When Lucas first arrived at the shelter, he was absolutely terrified. His fear was so overwhelming that he was heartbreakingly scheduled for euthanasia. But underneath all that fear is a tender, loving boy who just needed someone to see him — really see him — and give him a chance. Once Lucas feels safe with a person and gets to know his surroundings, he blossoms into the sweetest, most affectionate companion. But new situations still make him shut down, so he’ll need a patient, understanding family who can give him the time, space, and love he needs to settle in and feel secure. Other dogs help him for sure. Lucas is a gentle soul with so much love to give — he just needs someone willing to let him open up at his own pace. Story
Breed is best guess based on behavior and looks. Embark DNA is waiting for return. Bonnie is tiny for a Ridgeback mix but she has many characteristics of the breed. She is currently only 40lbs. Bonnie is in a house with both large and small dogs and loves them all. She is shy at first but once she warms up, she's ready to get the snuggle on!!! Bonnie is doing great on house training and even knows the doggy door. She is working on basic obedience but is fully crate trained and loves playing fetch. She'd do great as a walking buddy or just someone to lounge around the house with when she's played hard all day.

Rescued from a high-kill shelter, this handsome boy hasn’t let his past dim his loving spirit one bit. At around 50 lbs, Caleb is the perfect medium size—big enough for great cuddle sessions, yet manageable for daily adventures. He is incredibly affectionate, gentle, and thrives on human connection. Caleb loves to be near his people and will happily soak up all the love you have to give. He gets along well with other dogs and would enjoy a canine friend, though he’d also be perfectly happy being your one-and-only best buddy.
