He is a very loving and cuddly dog. He just wants to be around people and sit in your lap. He has a lot of energy and likes to explore. He is house trained but he likes to try and steal food! He has issues with anxiety and he likes to be inside. He is a great indoor house dog however our living situation has changed and he needs to be an outside dog with us. He is truly not happy with the situation and we think it may be best for him to find a home that can put in the time to show him love and make him happy.

Raven is a classic example of how impactful foster homes can be to show the dog's true personality. She was rescued from a landfill and came to Alaqua in February of 2023. She was extremely shut down and scared. She has a sensitive heart and the shelter environment was causing a lot of stress and poor mental health even with all the love she was getting from staff and volunteers. She was put into a foster home and starting flourishing. The layers of fear and stress starting peeling away revealing a dog that is equally as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. By nature she is happy. She will do zoomies when her foster mom comes home. She craves affection and happily receives puppy scratches from her people. She loves other dogs and looks to them for direction and reassurance. She is resilient and hopeful. She is a wonderful reminder of how life can have tribulations, but all you need is your tribe to love and support you through the good and bad. Raven would make a beautiful addition to your tribe/pack/family!

She is shy with strangers and will need a patient, knowledgeable owner to work with her. Maya's adoption fee is $150. Our dog adoption fees range from $95 to $400 and include spay/neuter, microchip, a rabies vaccine and a parvo/distemper vaccine. It also includes a heartworm test. He was originally adopted through us in 2016! He's surprisingly small - just 31 pounds - and seems to love everyone. Let's make his golden years special and find him the perfect retirement home.
