Hi, I’m Maple, though my foster parents call me Maple Fudge Sundae, which fits because I’m very sweet. I had a rough time as a stray, so my nails are still quite long even after a trim, and my skin and fur are healing. But once my coat finishes growing in, I’m going to be gorgeous. Under it all is a friendly, gentle black lab mix who’s very ready for home life again. I seem to have lived in a house before and it shows. I ride great in the car, I’m crate trained, and I’m fully housebroken. I go to the door when I need to go out and will even paw at it if you miss my signal. I also really love rolling in the grass and relaxing on a comfy dog bed. I’m an easy, pleasant walker on leash and I’m friendly with most other dogs. I do love chasing squirrels and foster mom says I’m a little “too interested” in cats, so I’d do best in a home without cats or small animals. At night, I sleep soundly in my crate and make it all the way through until morning. I wake up happy and ready to start the day. I enjoy food enrichment toys, love being brushed, and I was very cooperative for baths and nail trims. I’m also practicing my retrieving skills and getting better all the time. If you’re looking for a sweet, well-mannered dog with a gentle soul and lots of love to give, I might just be your Maple Fudge Sundae.
