Story
My adoption fee is $200 which covers my annual distemper booster, rabies, and being spayed/neutered and microchipped. I love going on walks and taking long naps. I can be spunky and stubborn at times but with continued training, I will be a great addition to your family. I don’t require a lot of attention but seem to do well just relaxing around the house. I will need slow introductions with other dogs. I will also need someone that can help me reach my goals of a becoming a healthier me. Nobody knows my past (weight issue) but I am looking forward to my future. Is it with you?April 22, 2024, 10:15 am

Story
Moose is a Lab/pit mix estimated at 3 years old. He is a gentle guy that will wiggle his butt for his favorite people. He walks well on a leash and loves being out on walks. He does well in a crate, will bark a little but settles quickly. He is sensitive to correction from other dogs, he will hide if a dog corrects him but will calm down and come out after a little while. He is still uneasy around some men, but he has been around many men as of late and done very well. He has a deep bark but the softest heart! Hes done well with other dogs, and so far isnt too playful. He will bark at a dog through the fence and will dig if he's unattended, but he has great recall and loves being outside. He is extremely treat motivated and loves his people! At this time we are not recommending young children due to his uneasiness around a lot of chaos. He also will need an experienced owner for vet visits. Please visit our website www.adoptionfirstanimalrescue.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Story
This is Cyprus, but his foster mom has been calling him Cy. Starting out a little shy, once he’s used to you he enjoys running around the yard, playing with toys, and throwing his whole body into you for snugs and scratches. A true Velcro dog through and through. He’ll stay glued to you while on the leash, give you hugs when he wants one, and have no problem letting you know when he feels a little left out.

Story
Jax came into my care after my friend moved to California for a job. He could not keep Jax so he arranged for someone else to take him, but that arrangement fell through. Jax is an affectionate dog. I call him the nanny dog because he gets very worried when you do things he considers dangerous. He is all about playing fetch with his ball. We sometimes take him to the beach and switch between throwing the ball in the water or far away for him to catch. He absolutely loves it. He also loves catching frisbees! He needs daily activity and walks as he is not a sedentary dog, though he could be. He just won't be his happiest self. Jax has a strong prey drive and often tries to chase after small animals (squirrels/birds/rabbits). He is also not friendly toward unknown dogs. He will lunge at them and try to fight them. However, once introduced, he is okay. He has never been exposed to cats. He is good with kids and very patient. I think Jax would do well with an active human or family.

Meet this handsome sweet guy named Baxter! He was surrendered by his owner on January 4, 2024 when they had 3 dogs and 2 were bonded and Baxter and 1 of the other dogs were not getting along. He has been super sweet and has been none reactive to other dogs in kennel beside him or when going in and out to play or enjoy the outdoors. He’s a gentle giant who is 8 years young, current on shots, house broken, neutered, and missing the comfort of a loving home and love from his human (s). Walks well on the leash and deserves a loving FOREVER home to enjoy his “golden years” soaking up all the loving and TLC. Adores every second he gets to spend time with his human friends. Cuddling is his favorite. Will make someone a great pup of given a fair chance. Maybe you’re the perfect loving person who is just right for sweet Baxter!

It is VERY important to keep your pets healthy and protected by keeping them on a once a month heart worm and flea/tick prevention. These animals are counting on you as their owner to provide them with lots a love and the proper health care so PLEASE make sure you are aware and prepared before adopting. Owning a pet is an extra expense and responsibility but is so worth every minute and penny you invest in them. They will add lots of joy and unconditional love if given a fair chance. The shelter is open Mon.-Fri. 10-1, 2-5, Sat. 10-4. Adopt a homeless pet and save a life. If you can not adopt right now come out and volunteer and make a difference in the lives of these animals while they await their FOREVER home. In order to adopt any of our "bully breeds" there is special paper work that will need to be collected and approved prior to the adoption. We love all of our dogs and want to make sure to place our "bully babies" in homes best suited for them.
