Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. I’m here! Set up a meet and greet with me!  I was picked up as a stray in September of 2023 and my prior owners never came to claim me. RUFF saved the day and agreed to take me into rescue since I was so nervous and anxious at the shelter. I’m in a foster home with 3 other dogs and I am definitely the submissive one of the group. I like to play with the right buddy and snuggle with my foster mom at night. I really enjoy it when my Nana comes over to check on us when my foster mom is in the office because I like to sit in her lap and get snuggles (I know I’m not really a lap dog).  I am a very smart dog and would thrive with more training. I am eager to learn and would love to find my forever home.   (ABF)   Up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, neutered and micro-chipped.   Adoption Fee:  $250.00     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 3, 2024, 6:07 pm

Story
Spinner is a lab weimaraner mix that is 1 year old and 70 pounds. We rescued Spinner on his last day, and he has blossomed! This now 70 pound young lab / Weimaraner mix loves to play, is goofy and sociable. He is crate and housetrained.  He knows several commands such as sit, shake and lay down.  He is good w/ all dogs provided he gets a slow and proper introduction.  He seems to be impartial to cats.  Spinner is very stubborn so he will need a strong pack leader in his new home.  He is good with kids, but with his clumsy goofball self, he would likely knock over small children, so we suggest kids 10 year old and up.  He sheds very little so you won't have to vacuum every day!  Spinner is a lover and enjoys sitting on the couch and cuddling with his people!  He is on slow kill Heartworm treatment since his levels were so low. No change in activity, he can romp as much as he wants! He is such a happy good natured boy! If you are interested in Spinner, please apply online at www.crisisdogsnc.org. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!  May 3, 2024, 11:16 pm

Story
Russell is a Golden Retriever Lab Mix approximately 7-8 years old, weighs about 45 pounds This beautiful boy survived a hoarder house fire, and we rescued him along with five of his mates who have slowly adjusted to their individual homes. Russell and his pal Sophie are taking a little longer to overcome their trauma, but they are not particularly bonded and can be adopted separately. Russell is very good with people, likes men and women, is very friendly, easy going. He is extremely shy and takes several weeks to come to you, but once there is trust, he attaches! Russell needs someone who is at home since he has severe separation anxieties. When you are not at home, he will require an industrial grade crate because he will try to get out at all cost. No kids, teens fine, loud noise and sudden movement scare him. He is scared of dogs other than Sophie so we recommend him as your only dog so he can bond deeply with you and establish trust. His foster writes, “Russell needs a fenced yard since It terrifies him to put a collar and leash on him; once on he does okay and follows your lead. A fenced yard where he can lounge would make him very happy since he is not very active. He loves lying around. and especially being close to you once he establishes he is safe and that you will protect him.” Russell absolutely needs an experienced owner who is around 90% of the time. His foster explains, ”When he is with a person he trusts, he is a very calm, easy going dog . He must have his security blanket - which is a ball, at all times. He will cry if he does not have one. He needs a home as the only dog so that he can have free range of movement, or with his sibling (Sophie). He absolutely panics when I leave the room, even for a few minutes and will do damage if not crated . He has to be able to see you. Once he is with you he truly is the best dog ever. " This dog is available and everything we know about this dog is included in the dog's description. We are only able to respond to questions once a completed application is received https://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. We do not respond to questions about our dogs sent through email or social media. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We transport by land or air whenever possible. Unless there is definitive documentation our breed and age assessments are based on visual appearances.May 3, 2024, 11:16 pm

Story
Skye is 1 year old, 16 lbs., and Labrador Retriever & Chihuahua Mix. Skye is a sweet dog once she warms up to you! Because of her past, she can be a little shy at first, but your patience will be rewarded with so much love once she gets comfortable. She is fun and full of playfulness! She loves running around the yard with her doggie buddies, so a fenced yard is preferred. Skye is already potty trained; crate trained and is doing well with leash training too! She loves affection, and when she warms up to you, she loves to sit close to you and snuggle. Skye has the most gorgeous brown eyes, and we know you Skye will make a great addition to any family!
