Meet Cosmo This adorable guy has the spunk and spirit of a typical pup. His mom was unfortunately run over and he had to have a little help being bottle fed until able to eat on his own. You would not know it by looking at him or in his glowing personality. Cosmo is always up for a romp during playtime. He is also one of the sweetest snugglers. Cosmo has grown to adoption age in the same wonderful household and his foster mom would love to give you all the details on his daily life. Cosmo is well socialized and would do great in a home with or without dogs and/or with or without children. If you are looking for a dedicated family companion, you can’t go wrong with this cutie. Once adopted, Cosmo will transport with Rescue Vet Transport to his new forever family (additional $185). If you would like to give him a life time of belly rubs please follow the link below to our adoption application. Please note, our volunteer team works very hard and they are very responsive so please submit your application only when you are ready to welcome your new furry friend. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
Meet FIONA🐾 This adorable pup has just come into the rescue and has stolen hearts all along the way. Coat is very shiny, healthy, and soft. FIONA is approximately 6 weeks old. We believe it will be on the mid-size dog to large dog. You can tell by the personality already that it’s going to make someone a wonderful companion. Perfect energy one is looking for in a pup. Energy level – not too little and not too much. 💖 Personality: Goofy, playful, and energetic. Has a wonderful temperament and gets along great with foster mates. Fostering in a home in Memphis, TN and foster mom would love to share all the stories. Going to be great family companion and already wants to be your new best friend! 🏡 Ideal Home: Would do great in a family that has space to roam and explore, and maybe even another doggy sibling to make friends with. Perfect with another dog or perfectly content to be the only pup. If you are looking for a life-long companion and friend this little doll is perfect for you. If you’re ready to give a lifetime of belly rubs, treats, and a cozy bed, please reach out! Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  Hello there, future family! We’re Jill & Jack, a brother-sister duo with hearts as golden as our fur. We’ve been together since the day we were born, and we can’t imagine life without each other. We are two years old and we do everything as a team—run, play, explore, and even bark at the FedEx and mailman (but only because they give us treats!). Right now, we have a place to sleep, but it’s not a real home. We live in a barn, and though we never make a mess in our space (even if we are in there for 12 hrs), we dream of soft beds inside a house where we can curl up next to you. We would adjust to being indoor dogs in a nice cozy house but we would need lots of exercise and yard time. We want to be part of a family that has time for us, time to take us on adventures—like car rides (our favorite!) and hikes through the woods. We want a place where we can be loved the way we love each other. We promise to be the best companions. We’re good dogs—already fixed, up to date on shots, on flea & heartworm prevention and we weigh around ninety pounds. We love people, and while we may act protective at first, just tell us it’s okay, and we’ll happily befriend anyone. We’ve been around kids, but not all the time, so we may need a little patience while we learn. The truth is… we don’t have much time. Our current humans love us, but they can’t give us what we need, and we’re hoping—praying—that someone will see how special we are and take us home together. We do require a fenced in yard or underground fencing. We come with our behavioral collars and have had some leash training. Please, if you have room in your heart for two loyal, loving, and adventurous best friends, give us a chance. We’ll fill your life with joy, laughter, and endless tail wags. With hopeful hearts,Jill & Jack *Guest Posting If you would like more information or would like to meet Jack & Jill, please contact Judy at judy@almosthometn.org or 865-300-8146. Please fill out an adoption application on www.almosthometn.org. If you can't get it to work, contact Judy above and she will email it to you in a different format. Adoption process includes a contract, home visit, and one week trial period.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. March 18, 2025, 12:03 am
