Story
Meet Cosmo This adorable guy has the spunk and spirit of a typical pup. His mom was unfortunately run over and he had to have a little help being bottle fed until able to eat on his own. You would not know it by looking at him or in his glowing personality. Cosmo is always up for a romp during playtime. He is also one of the sweetest snugglers. Cosmo has grown to adoption age in the same wonderful household and his foster mom would love to give you all the details on his daily life. Cosmo is well socialized and would do great in a home with or without dogs and/or with or without children. If you are looking for a dedicated family companion, you can’t go wrong with this cutie. Once adopted, Cosmo will transport with Rescue Vet Transport to his new forever family (additional $185). If you would like to give him a life time of belly rubs please follow the link below to our adoption application. Please note, our volunteer team works very hard and they are very responsive so please submit your application only when you are ready to welcome your new furry friend. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
Please contact Judy (paxtonj@live.com), (865) 300-8146 for more information about this pet.Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  Hello, future family! My name is Bruce, and I’m a six-year-old Lab mix weighing in at about 65 pounds. I have a nub tail—whether I was born this way or it was taken off when I was a pup is a mystery, but it doesn’t stop me from wagging my non-existent tail in excitement. I’ve had a rough start. I used to live in a military dog box, which was pretty scary and lonely. But thankfully, a kind person saw my potential and helped me get into rescue. Now, I’m filled with hope and ready to find a new home where I can share my love and joy. Let me tell you a bit about myself: I’m a happy, athletic boy who loves all kinds of toys, especially balls. If you have one, you better be ready to play fetch, because I’ll keep nudging it towards you until you throw it! If you’re busy, I’ll entertain myself by tossing it around, but I much prefer when we play together. I’m good with other dogs and am not an alpha. My best buddy in my foster home is Gunnar (also up for adoption). We love to hang out, especially looking out the window together. I’m housebroken, so no worries about that! When it comes to snuggling, I love sleeping with you, but I’ll move to the floor if I get too warm. I also enjoy car rides and love being part of whatever you’re doing. I’d do best with an active family and a canine friend who likes to play as much as I do. I have mild separation anxiety, so I’ll need to be left inside when you’re out. I promise I won’t be destructive—just give me a chew bone, and I’ll be content until you return. My front teeth are a bit worn from trying to get out of that box I was kept in, but it doesn’t slow me down! I still enjoy chewing, eating, and playing tug-of-war. I am neutered, totally vetted, micro-chipped, and up-to-date on preventives. I’m ready to bring endless joy and loyalty into your life. If you’re looking for a happy, energetic companion who will bring you toys and love, then I might be the perfect fit for you. Let’s meet soon—I can’t wait to find my forever home with you! Love, Bruce If you would like more information or would like to meet Bruce, please contact Judy at judy@almosthometn.org or 865-300-8146. ADOPTION FEE: $150 Please fill out an adoption application on www.almosthometn.org. If you can't get it to work, contact Judy above and she will email it to you in a different format. Adoption process includes a contract, home visit, and one week trial period.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. March 18, 2025, 12:03 am
