She has lived outside her whole life, but should learn inside manners quickly. She's very laid back and gentle. She loves children and other dogs, but has not been exposed to cats.

Nico was born to a family who lives on a busy road. Most of his siblings didn't make it. He has been hit by a car at least once and lives with a slight limp, but it doesn't bother him. Nico is super sweet and would love to be someone's shop dog or couch buddy. He has lived outside his whole life, but should learn inside manners quickly. He's very laid back and gentle. He loves children and other dogs, but has not been exposed to cats.

Story
Hi there! I’m just a grateful pup who is so thankful to finally be out of the woods! A really nice lady found me in an area by their hunting cabin. While it is a place their family loves, it was a really scary place for me. A not-so-nice person dropped me off and then drove away. I was so scared as I watched them leave me. The woods are not a safe place for dogs like me. There are coyotes all over the place, even bears. I don't know how long I was out there in the middle of the woods by their hunting cabin but I know it was too long. I was so hungry and thirsty and covered in ticks and fleas, and oh-so-skinny. I can’t express how thankful I am that this lovely family came out of nowhere and rescued me! They put me in their car, took me home, and gave me a warm bath. After that scary time in the woods, I finally got to catch up on my sleep, and boy, did I need it! They spoiled me with all the food and water I wanted, and soon after, they took me to the doctor to make sure I was healthy. I got some vaccines, and then I got to go to a really nice lady’s house—my wonderful foster! I have a tiny foster sibling and a big German Shepherd buddy, and we have a blast playing together! My favorite thing to do is to plop my feet in someone’s lap and do this silly downward dog pose. Everyone says I am so gentle they hardly know that I have plopped my feet in their lap. Everyone says I look pretty when I walk, but I’m not quite sure what that means—I just wag my tail and prance around! My foster mom has a pool, and I have the best time watching her granddaughter and her friends splash around. I’m super gentle and great with kids! I also LOVE car rides and will ride shot gun and look out the window and watch the world go by! Even though my pictures might make me look big, I'm actually quite tiny with a delicate frame. I just love to play, run, and lay outside soaking up the sun. I dream of having a new family of my own to love. I’m so thankful to be alive, safe, and fed. If you adopt me, I promise to love you forever and to the moon!

Zelda is kind of a silly name for a beautiful girl like me, UNTIL I discovered that I was named after the "Legend of Zelda" :) She is absolutely amazing and really TOUGH. Well the game she is in is the TOUGHEST game EVER :) Ok, well that is what all the preteen boys say about the game, lol.... So Zelda is my name and I IDENTIFY as a tough girl on the outside and a sweet girl on the inside :D I love everyone and play HARD with my friends.I am so very cute too. I am a great sized girl, about 40#, compact and playful... I want a friend or two in my new furever home. I want a nice house, nice bed and maybe even a fireplace?? I don't think that is too much to ask in this weather! I was found on the streets during a "stray count" performed several times a year in San Antonio. I was hurt, and the "counter" asked for the rescue to help me and they did!!! I have been hanging here, am healthy and smart and beautiful!! ADOPT ME SOON!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)
