Foster/Foster to Adopt/Adopt DOB 3/13/22 Dudley was a stray who was not claimed in Chowchilla. Unfortunately he got parvo but was treated and recovered quickly. Dudley is around 6 months, best breed guess is short hound mix. Dudley is sweet but feisty! He loves his foster friends and he is very food motivated. He is just starting his leash training. Dudley is almost housetrained but will still have a few accidents, we are sure he just lived outside previously. He loves to sleep in his humans bed. Dudley is fixed, chipped and fully vaccinated. This dog (male neutered, ~50 lb) came into the shelter with a limp. X-rays showed that he is close to 1 year old.This dog has been diagnosed with a chronic fracture of the proximal femur at the juncture of the femoral neck and the femoral head (right hip) with aseptic necrosis of the femoral neck. In other words, his right hip joint is broken and compromised. He has muscle atrophy in the right limb from disuse. This chronic injury is painful and requires surgical treatment, typically a femoral head and neck ostectomy (FHNO) procedure, to remove the damaged portion of the hip joint.Our very committed foster was able to coordinate surgical repair at UC Davis, which we hope to be completed by early to Mid-November as soon as they are able. Chance will need post-operative rehabilitation and care.Chance also has mild left coxofemoral degenerative joint disease (arthritis in the left hip).

Lee Lou is a 95-pound Bloodhound with a big heart to match the size of her ears. She’s a sweet, attentive, and loyal companion who will be dedicated to her person and family. She loves rubs more than anything in the world and she is one smart cookie - Lee Lou already knows 10+ verbal and hand commands! She’s eager to learn and thrives with structure. As a true bloodhound, her nose rules her world—she loves following scents and will happily sniff her way through a long walk. She also has a strong food drive, so anything smelly and within reach is fair game in her mind! Lee-Lou is good with other dogs with a proper introduction, as long as they respect her space and boundaries. She is also good with cats! If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will make you laugh, love you endlessly, and keep life interesting with her nose-led adventures, Lee Lou is your girl! (LH)
