Foster/Foster to Adopt/Adopt DOB 3/13/22 Dudley was a stray who was not claimed in Chowchilla. Unfortunately he got parvo but was treated and recovered quickly. Dudley is around 6 months, best breed guess is short hound mix. Dudley is sweet but feisty! He loves his foster friends and he is very food motivated. He is just starting his leash training. Dudley is almost housetrained but will still have a few accidents, we are sure he just lived outside previously. He loves to sleep in his humans bed. Dudley is fixed, chipped and fully vaccinated. Gus' foster parent has this to say about Gus: Gus is a fun loving 3 ½ year old male basset who has been in my home since April 2025, when his owner of only 6-8 months had to surrender him as she had a terminal illness. He had some challenges that I have been working on with him. He had severe resource guarding issues but is 95% better today. He is fed in a separate area then his basset sister and left alone while eating. He will growl periodically if he thinks that there is food in a bowl that his sister or the cat walks by so thus why the bowls are picked up promptly after feedings and put away till the next feeding. He is not particularly fond of men and does growl at them when he sees them. (workers on the ranch/vet’s office) As I am single and do not have men in my home, I can not work with him on this insecurity. I have exposed him to other people and dogs when he goes out on walks and he does ok. He has been boarded on a few different occasions when I am out of the area or for a doggy daycare day and does well, although he does initially growl at any male staff. Gus loves to do zoomies up and down the hallway and play with his cat friend Stanley and his 2 canine sisters, Presley and Kitchi. He does bark at traffic on the ranch and the cows across the street. I feel he would be best in a home with another canine sister that is easy going and matches his medium energy and either with just a single woman or a couple that is willing to work with him to get him acclimated to men. Overall, Gus is a love and with the right family and continued socialization, will thrive. He can be stubborn, as most bassets are known for, but that is what I love about my bassets, as I also am stubborn so understand the mentality. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Buzz is a 9-year-old neutered male basset hound with a loving playful personality. Buzz's foster home has helped Buzz shed a few pounds, so he is more active, very playful, and has come out of his shell. Buzz is up to date on all his vetting, including recently having had a dental. Buzz is a wonderful boy, he is sweet as they come. He sure loves his humans and wants to be with them whenever he can, following you all over the home. Buzz also is very attached to the doggie pals in his foster home, spending his days romping and hanging out with them. He is a little shy when meeting new doggies out in the world, but warms up quickly. He  plays well with other dogs as he has 2 basset buddies here, one 6yr and a 4 month puppy, he will let the puppy know when he wants to be left alone. Buzz is a great watch dog, keeping an eye out on his home. Not sure how Buzz will do with cats though. Buzz does bark when you walk out the door, but  settles right down. He becomes real excited when you do return and will bark a bit. This wonderful boy will be a great addition to a  family. Abby is a happy, loving 10 month old puppy who has absolutely no idea that there is anything wrong with her. She’s as active as any other puppy and just as mischievous. She loves other dogs and people and has a wonderful temperament. Abby is smart, intuitive, happy, and extroverted. She even enjoys going to the vet! She’s already mastered Basset stubbornness and can give “side eye” with the best of them. Unfortunately, Abby was born with rear legs that don’t work properly. She has never walked so she doesn’t miss it and she can scoot as fast as the other dogs run around the house. We’ve customized a wheelchair for her (looks a bit like a clown car) but she loves it and goes for walks with the other dogs. Abby was surrendered to GGBR in November 2025 and we were told by the breeder that she was 9 weeks old and had a back injury - maybe a dog had stepped on her. We started physical therapy and acupuncture but we realized that she was not improving nor did she really have any desire to walk. After doing x-rays it was determined that she was born with severe hip dysplasia and her stifles (knees) did not set properly in the socket. In addition, because she wasn’t walking, not being able to put weight on her rear limbs limited their development. She’s not in any pain or discomfort and can get in as much trouble as a fully mobile dog. Abby is currently 37 pounds and should be around 42-45 pounds when she is full grown. She is not incontinent but since she’s unable to be trained to go outside in her current location and condition, she wears diapers in the house and then sleeps in a crate with an incontinence pad at night. Because of the diapers, she is prone to UTIs so she does need to be changed every 2-3 hours.
