Story
Hi there! I am a handsome and happy American Foxhound mix named Boone. I am about 2 years old, weigh 44 lbs, and I was a stray puppy in San Antonio, Texas. Thankfully, I was taken in by a local dog rescue, but no one asked about me, even though I'm so sweet and handsome! Anyway, I am now getting another opportunity through 4 Little Paws Rescue to find a forever family on the East Coast before I become a senior citizen! I am neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, healthy, and happy, and ready to meet you!! My foster mom says I am a very sweet boy with a medium energy level, and I make friends easily with all humans and other dogs, but haven't met a kitty cat yet. I enjoy playtime, running, doggy treats, rides in the car, and human attention. I'm affectionate without being kissy or slobbery. I rarely bark, and thunderstorms don't scare me. I'm just a good boy with a heart of gold, and dreams of finding a family of my own! Inquire about me today. FYI... More pics and a video coming soon! * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Story
Mimi is 6 years old and a very good and energetic dog. She is very affectionate and loves to cuddle and give kisses. She's pretty well trained but can tend to get a bit jealous if she doesn't get a lot of attention. She will follow you around and always be up under you because that's how much she loves you. She loves walks and she doesn't pull very hard. She has a very healthy appetite and tends to eat super fast so she'll most likely need a slow feeder. I got Mimi from an ACC shelter and she was very skinny but she's healthy now and has filled out! Her new home should have people that can handle her high energy be able to give her the attention that she needs.

What are you waiting for? Apply today! Click here to apply for the pet Float is a 7-8 year old, 53 lb Treeing Walker Coonhound mix with a gentle spirit and an easygoing nature. After over four months in a North Carolina shelter, his world brightened when he finally got out—right before the shelter shut its doors. He’s lived through a lot: long days on cold concrete, pressure sores on his elbows, and the realization at his first vet visit that he’s not the young pup they thought, but an older gentleman with partial vision loss and arthritis in his back legs. Yet, despite everything, Float remains upbeat and friendly. He doesn’t let his partial blindness or creaky joints hold him back. He adapts quickly to new homes, might bump into a corner or two, but soon maps out his surroundings. Float gets along with everyone—strangers, kids, cats, and other dogs. He genuinely enjoys dog company, loves a good sniff around the neighborhood, and still finds room to play. He’s being fostered in Abington, MA, and adopters from out of state are considered, as long as they can visit him. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! What are you waiting for? Story
***Special needs. She was hit by a car and had several hip surgeries. She needs joint supplements and may eventually need some support for her back and in the form of a wheelchair support vehicle!*** Meet Jenny! Jenny is a 5-6-year-old foxhound, whippet, pointer and jack Russell terrier mix!! She was hit with a hit by a car within the first year of her life. She was turned over to a shelter in South Carolina who contacted us because we are well-known to help with special mobility needs dogs. Of course, we said yes. Jenny has endured two hip surgeries, on the same side of her hip for both of them. The first surgery was a female femoral head osteotomy commonly known as an FHO. The surgeon removed the head of her femur and made a pocket in the hit muscle as a replacement. She also removed many bone fragments as well. It took Jenny nearly a year to recover from the first surgery and then it was determined she needed another! The second surgery seem to do the trick and removed a lot of scar tissue and extra bone growth that had become painful for her. Jenny is a happy-go-lucky girl. She’s always on the lookout for bunnies and squirrels, that’s the hound in her! She loves to play with other dogs, but big dogs that are rough can be a little much for her although she can hold her own! She does well playing on grass but a lot of walking on concrete will need some special care to make sure that her back legs don’t drag. She uses both our back legs very well, but will always have some mobility issues. She often tends to walk sideways when she gets tired! Jenny has gotten along well with all her other foster dog siblings. Jenny hasn’t met a stranger and also has been great with the children she’s met. As well as the cat in her foster home. Jenny is very well crate trained and housetrained although her accident has left her with urgency when she needs to go outside to potty. And Jenny walks well on a leash and loves to walk the neighbourhood looking for anything that moves! We feel that Jenny is ready for her forever home after over a year in her rescue foster homes. Interested in becoming a forever home for Jenny? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Jenny. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Jenny the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
