This sweetie was picked up following a post person because she fed them. Very sweet, friendly and happy, she has the typical hound personalities!! Lily does tend to hang back a little and see what's going on around first. She likes to play and does well with the pups she is with right now. She will need all of the puppy training along with leash work. She is just a great puppy ready for a family to go on adventures with. She is located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

***Special needs. She was hit by a car and had several hip surgeries. She needs joint supplements and may eventually need some support for her back and in the form of a wheelchair support vehicle!*** Meet Jenny! Jenny is a 2-3-year-old foxhound, whippet, pointer and jack Russell terrier mix!! She was hit with a hit by a car within the first year of her life. She was turned over to a shelter in South Carolina who contacted us because we are well-known to help with special mobility needs dogs. Of course, we said yes. Jenny has endured two hip surgeries, on the same side of her hip for both of them. The first surgery was a female femoral head osteotomy commonly known as an FHO. The surgeon removed the head of her femur and made a pocket in the hit muscle as a replacement. She also removed many bone fragments as well. It took Jenny nearly a year to recover from the first surgery and then it was determined she needed another! The second surgery seem to do the trick and removed a lot of scar tissue and extra bone growth that had become painful for her. Jenny is a happy-go-lucky girl. She’s always on the lookout for bunnies and squirrels, that’s the hound in her! She loves to play with other dogs, but big dogs that are rough can be a little much for her although she can hold her own! She does well playing on grass but a lot of walking on concrete will need some special care to make sure that her back legs don’t drag. She uses both our back legs very well, but will always have some mobility issues. She often tends to walk sideways when she gets tired! Jenny has gotten along well with all her other foster dog siblings. Jenny hasn’t met a stranger and also has been great with the children she’s met. As well as the cat in her foster home. Jenny is very well crate trained and housetrained although her accident has left her with urgency when she needs to go outside to potty. And Jenny walks well on a leash and loves to walk the neighbourhood looking for anything that moves! We feel that Jenny is ready for her forever home after over a year in her rescue foster homes. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Meet Twix, an adorable 35-pound Basset Hound mix with short legs, long ears, and a whole lot of love to give. This girl is the total package — playful, snuggly, goofy, and incredibly sweet. Twix is a big fan of toys and is happiest when she’s carrying one around or trotting across the room with her tail wagging. She will also fetch a ball, although not always bring it back to you! I mean, come on, she’s a Basset Hound, not a Retriever!! While she has shown no signs of food or toy possessiveness in her foster home, adopters should always be mindful and practice good supervision, just as you would with any dog. She’s a happy sharer, but we always recommend common-sense precautions in new environments. Twix gets along well with most dogs and enjoys playtime. She can be a tiny bit snarky upon first meeting (Basset sass, what can we say?), but she settles quickly once she realizes everyone’s friendly. Twix is crate trained and will serenade you with a short Basset aria before settling down. She’s still working on her house training, but she does great when kept on a consistent schedule. She also rides beautifully in the car, hops in and out on her own, and handles stairs like a champ. At her core, Twix is a loving, joyful dog who adores attention and wants nothing more than to be someone’s cuddle buddy. She’s truly a wonderful companion, and the person who adopts her is going to be very, very lucky.
