Story
Hi, I'm Kipp-a gentle soul with a soft heart and a love for the simple things. I'm a mild-mannered foxhound who's a little shy at first, but once I feel safe, my sweet personality starts to shine. I'm housebroken, quiet, and always on my best behavior. I'm not the kind of pup to jump into the spotlight, but I'm the kind who'll stay right by your side. One of my favorite things is using my nose to explore the world. I could sniff through the grass for hours-it's like my own little adventure every time! I'd love a calm home where I can take things slow, build trust, and be your gentle, loyal companion. If you're the patient, kind-hearted type, I just know we'll be a perfect match.Already falling for those big brown eyes and floppy ears? If you're interested in giving this pup a fresh start, please fill out an adoption or foster application on our website: www.savehomelessanimals.org.Stay tuned-he may be your new best friend in the making! Story
Running straight for your heart Like people, dogs have all kinds of personalities. Some are outgoing, while others are shy; some are couch potatoes, while others are…well…Ellie Mae. This nearly 3-year-old, 53-pound foxhound mix is full of energy! True to her breed, Ellie Mae loves to run, so she’d thrive with an active companion (the 2- or 4-legged kind). Ideally, you have a fenced-in yard where she can get plenty of exercise. Parks and other dog-friendly areas also provide a wonderful opportunity for Ellie Mae to sprint and for you to watch in awe, wishing you had even a fraction of her energy! When it’s time to come inside, this young girl settles down nicely, oozing with love and affection. Your family will melt as she shows this softer side of her personality. Speaking of reasons to adore her, Ellie Mae has also proven herself to be quite clever. She’s mastered several commands, and she’s eager for you to teach her more. If you’re ready to welcome an athletic, affectionate, and smart-as-a-whip pup into your family, it’s your turn to spring into step and contact us now.

Story
***Special needs. She was hit by a car and had several hip surgeries. She needs joint supplements and may eventually need some support for her back and in the form of a wheelchair support vehicle!*** Meet Jenny! Jenny is a 2-3-year-old foxhound, whippet, pointer and jack Russell terrier mix!! She was hit with a hit by a car within the first year of her life. She was turned over to a shelter in South Carolina who contacted us because we are well-known to help with special mobility needs dogs. Of course, we said yes. Jenny has endured two hip surgeries, on the same side of her hip for both of them. The first surgery was a female femoral head osteotomy commonly known as an FHO. The surgeon removed the head of her femur and made a pocket in the hit muscle as a replacement. She also removed many bone fragments as well. It took Jenny nearly a year to recover from the first surgery and then it was determined she needed another! The second surgery seem to do the trick and removed a lot of scar tissue and extra bone growth that had become painful for her. Jenny is a happy-go-lucky girl. She’s always on the lookout for bunnies and squirrels, that’s the hound in her! She loves to play with other dogs, but big dogs that are rough can be a little much for her although she can hold her own! She does well playing on grass but a lot of walking on concrete will need some special care to make sure that her back legs don’t drag. She uses both our back legs very well, but will always have some mobility issues. She often tends to walk sideways when she gets tired! Jenny has gotten along well with all her other foster dog siblings. Jenny hasn’t met a stranger and also has been great with the children she’s met. As well as the cat in her foster home. Jenny is very well crate trained and housetrained although her accident has left her with urgency when she needs to go outside to potty. And Jenny walks well on a leash and loves to walk the neighbourhood looking for anything that moves! We feel that Jenny is ready for her forever home after over a year in her rescue foster homes. Interested in becoming a forever home for Jenny? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Jenny. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Jenny the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
My name is COOKIE! I'm a very sweet and kind Foxhound mx who is 1-2 years old. I was found by a really nice couple when I was lost and they fell in love with me and brought me home. The only problem was their other dog didn't love me so much and didn't like sharing his parents or his home. I'm great with other dogs and love everyone I meet so I wasn't the problem but he lived there first. :( The nice couple brought me to a Vet's office and I'm in boarding now. I'm very sad because I'm homeless again and I'm praying a loving and kind adopter finds me. I'm fully grown at 45 pounds, super smart and very handsome as you can see in my photos. I promise to be a devoted companion who will return all your love ten-fold. Please come get me!! Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (lrhrescue@gmail.com)
