Story
***Special needs. She was hit by a car and had several hip surgeries. She needs joint supplements and may eventually need some support for her back and in the form of a wheelchair support vehicle!*** Meet Jenny! Jenny is a 5-6-year-old foxhound, whippet, pointer and jack Russell terrier mix!! She was hit with a hit by a car within the first year of her life. She was turned over to a shelter in South Carolina who contacted us because we are well-known to help with special mobility needs dogs. Of course, we said yes. Jenny has endured two hip surgeries, on the same side of her hip for both of them. The first surgery was a female femoral head osteotomy commonly known as an FHO. The surgeon removed the head of her femur and made a pocket in the hit muscle as a replacement. She also removed many bone fragments as well. It took Jenny nearly a year to recover from the first surgery and then it was determined she needed another! The second surgery seem to do the trick and removed a lot of scar tissue and extra bone growth that had become painful for her. Jenny is a happy-go-lucky girl. She’s always on the lookout for bunnies and squirrels, that’s the hound in her! She loves to play with other dogs, but big dogs that are rough can be a little much for her although she can hold her own! She does well playing on grass but a lot of walking on concrete will need some special care to make sure that her back legs don’t drag. She uses both our back legs very well, but will always have some mobility issues. She often tends to walk sideways when she gets tired! Jenny has gotten along well with all her other foster dog siblings. Jenny hasn’t met a stranger and also has been great with the children she’s met. As well as the cat in her foster home. Jenny is very well crate trained and housetrained although her accident has left her with urgency when she needs to go outside to potty. And Jenny walks well on a leash and loves to walk the neighbourhood looking for anything that moves! We feel that Jenny is ready for her forever home after over a year in her rescue foster homes. Interested in becoming a forever home for Jenny? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Jenny. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Jenny the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Bobby is a 2 year old foxhound mix. He weighs about 44 pounds. We saw a video of him at the shelter calmly begging for pets and had to help him. He is on the calmer side and so so sweet. He is good on leash. He is good with other dogs and cats too. He is a gentle boy and does not even really jump up. He is settling in his foster home where he is working on house and crate training. More pictures to come! Apply at bcaaofnj.orgInterested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. Story
OPIE JAMES ! This handsome boy is 10 months old (Sept) and 47 pounds. He is brother to Akyli (girl), also up for adoption! They are both sweet and pretty chill for puppies but a bit shy with humans they do not know. Opie James would do best in a home with another dog or his sister Akyli !! If interested in adopting, please complete our application - you can copy and paste: https://www.miraclesforsatosrescue.org/adoption-foster-application ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently in Puerto Rico. Once an adopter is fully approved, transport will be arranged to the New York/NJ area. We DO adopt out of state, but you must come to pick up. In addition, if you are applying for this dog or any of our pups, you must be open to dog psychology/behavior (Cesar Millan) and fulfilling the needs of the dog. We strive for our dogs to be adopted into the right home. The best fit for the dog is our priority. We ask that you please make sure if interested in a puppy or high energy breed that you are ready for this time consuming/daily endeavor and have patience as this is a long term commitment (could be 15+ years). Please consider your future lifestyle after COVID. Please make sure you are ready to properly exercise and give a dog all it needs for fulfillment. Your ongoing time and day-to-day commitment is the most important thing in caring for a dog. In addition we cannot guarantee breed of any dog or expected adult size of a puppy. Thank you for understanding.

Story
Meet BAM! Bam is now 2 years, 2 months old and 62 lbs. He was abandoned in McKenzie, TN at a rental property. HOW HORRID! He had much higher energy back in Feb 2023. But with an AMAZING, dedicated foster Mom...Bam has established a regular exercise routine and he has nicely smoothed out his energy now. Bam's 'thing' is his georgeous blue eyes. They look like jewels glistening at ya! I did the breed app check. And if shows mostly American Fox Hound with mix of Louisianna Catahoula Leopard. I'm going with it as his breed has had us puzzled. Bam is great with all the dogs in his foster home...of both genders, all ages, and various breeds. He is good on leash, rides well, crates & house trained.
