Moose is 9.5 years old and he is a very sweet dog but he needs to be in a home without small children. He is big and rough and has accidentally knocked our 1 year old down and hurt him a few times and he recently started snarling at him when he gets close. This is making us uncomfortable having him around our son so he has been staying in a separate area of our house during the day unless our son is napping or we are out of the house. We want him to go to a home where he will be able to go back to roaming as much as he wants and be around people as he loves attention. He is very sweet, loves people and other dogs (especially little dogs), cats and loves sleeping. He is up to date on vaccines, is microchipped and housebroken.

Lady is being fostered in TX. HI! I am delighted that you are interested in knowing more about me! I am about 3 months old*. My absolute passions are EAT, MOVE and Cuddle! In fact, among my many super pawers is my super sense of smell, so I became highly excited when smelling delicious foods around me! My foster mamma and I are working hard to learn how to harness this super power! My second super power is my high level of energy and my strong curiosity, I guess that makes three super powers, isn’ it? If you don’t give me a job to do, I will find it on my own! So it is very important for me that you become my guiding light. Yet, I also want you to be soft and cuddle with me in quiet times, since I actively look for bonding, reassurance, and safety. I am good with kiddos, but I will prefer kiddos 6+ since I - for now - get excited and might scratch them by accident. Also, I highly benefit from tolerant and playful siblings who can help me balance when the puppyhood zoomies come! Did I tell you that I am already potty trained? YUP!!! I am proudly potty trained. Regarding my eyes, I have Microphthalmia which “is a congenital condition where one or both eyeballs are abnormally small” on my right eye. My foster momma is seeing a little cloudiness on my left eye*, so I am going to visit an eye specialist in mid August. However, I have not presented any issue navigating the house, jumping the stairs, or avoiding any obstacles in the backyard. I am sure my foster momma will update any relevant info after our appointment. Are you ready to love me? * By the time of this writing on July 2nd. BDRA has voted against the use of eletrical fencing effective immediately.

If you've been looking for a fun-sized basset with all the charm, stubbornness, noise, and nonsense the breed is famous for, allow us to introduce Miss Mabel. 2 years old 54 lbs. Red & white Low-rider model with deluxe ears and upgraded personality package Mabel arrived as a stray from a local shelter and were still trying to understand how nobody came looking for her. She is basically a living cartoon. She has all the classic basset features: Selective hearing Olympic-level sniffing abilities Dramatic facial expressions Sudden bursts of chaos followed by a 3-hour nap The belief that every human should be paying attention to her And unlike some bassets that arrive in economy-crushing sizes, Mabel is a slightly more compact version. Still plenty of hound. Just easier to fit on your couch. A few things prospective adopters should know: Mabel does not have an inside voice. You will play with her. These are not requests. She believes ears are a community resource. Your ears. Other dogs ears. If it has ears, Mabel may investigate them... or occasionally chew on them. Ignoring her is not a long-term strategy. At her grooming/boarding foster home she's also demonstrated talents in: Sweeping hair piles using her entire body Quality-control testing of dog beds through strategic destuffing Keeping everyone entertained whether they asked for entertainment or not She's social, playful, clean in her area, and happiest when life includes people, activity, and a good game. Mabel is seeking a foster, foster-to-adopt home, adopter, or potentially a breed rescue placement (though we know most basset rescues are currently operating on caffeine, hope, and borrowed time). The good news? She's fully vetted and ready to go. If your house feels a little too quiet, your dog needs a playmate, or you've been missing that special kind of hound-induced chaos that only basset lovers understand... Mabel may be your girl.
