3yo female frenchie, spayed, chipped, current vax & fecal, Simparico Trio, Apoquel, probiotics. House & crate trained, crated when alone. Used to someone home all day w/ frequent potty breaks. Sleeps thru night in crate or bed. Loves children, dogs (former cat tolerated), belly rubs, snuggles, lap naps, beach ball, walks. Loyal, protective, attached to humans, lazy w/ intermittent zoomies. Commands: “sit, stay, ok, no, off, kennel, leave it”. Ignores: “come, down.” Stubborn, leash puller, doorbell reactive, very food motivated, must use slow/puzzle feeder. Food guarding caused by older dog so we separate to feed. Prone to recurrent bacterial skin infections from allergies, frequent vet checks & meds. Rx food trials & elimination diets haven’t yet pinpointed allergy. Environmental allergy testing identified dust mite allergy. Seeking experienced, nurturing home with financial means to provide lifetime allergy care, with someone home during day to give attention she craves.

UPDATE!! Meet sweet Julie. This girl was saved from a local shelter yesterday! Julie appears to be a Frenchie/Boston/Terrier mix.. maybe!  Whatever the mix it sure is cute with her little underbite! Julie is 2 years old and full grown at 20.6 lbs. She’s a total sweetheart. Great with other dogs and walked into her foster home like she owned it last night. She walks well on a leash and doesn’t mind the crate or car. Julie is utd, hw tested and spayed.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications!
