Meet Dove! This cutie is a 12 week old French bulldog/border collie mix that came to us from a commercial breeding facility in Lancaster county. She was given up because she was an "accident and not going to be able to be sold for a high enough rate for the puppy mill to even bother trying to sell her. To top it off, her and her siblings tested positive for Parvo virus upon arriving at our rescue. We are very thankful that we got Dove and her siblings treated when we did because just 12 hours more could have been the difference between life and death with this devastating virus. Be on the lookout for an upcoming educational post on this topic of parvo virus, and how a new drug is changing the game in terms of survival Dove is just as sweet as can be, and we are very excited to find her a forever home like her siblings. We think she is simply perfect... all the best parts of a French bulldog, but without any of the multitude of health issues that purebred French bulldogs typically have. She is estimated to be about 35 pounds full grown, based on size now (though this is just a guess), and have the signature border collie energy and intelligence! As with all dogs we save from puppy mills, they will need a family who is understanding and prepared to work through a period of transition with them as they learn to live in a house and around people. They will need time to trust their new family before working on training, such as house training. Adopt Milo! This spunky french bulldog is searching for his forever home   Milo arrived to one of our shelter partners when his owners couldn’t keep up with his health needs. Same old Frenchie story. Upon arriving to our care we discovered he had some mobility “flaws”. We got him to one of our vet partners and discovered he has a condition called hemivertebrae. He unfortunately was born with an abnormally shaped vertebrae and has stiff knees due to some bone abnormalities. He is basically… reproduction of poor breeding. Milo is about 3 years old and dog friendly. He previously lived with children and loves being with people! He’s a great patient and the vet and social with everyone he meets. Although he has some special health considerations and a genetic condition, he gets around well and isn’t held back. He can do steps and zoomie, and will initiate play with his foster siblings. He tends to snore, loves to beatle roll and be your shadow. He will velcro himself to you like glue but also can go missing sometimes and found snuggled up in a laundry basket Milo will need an adopter who is willing and prepared to to provide life long IVDD management, as all French Bulldogs require. Milo does have a history of typical bulldog allergies and came to us with a nasty ear infection that has since cleared. He is eating a limited ingredient allergy friendly diet for his skin.  Like all dogs, Milo will need time to decompress in his new home. Scenery changes do stress him out, but give him a chance to settle in his new home and he is the best companion. Milo would love another dog in the home for comfort, he gravitates towards his foster siblings and is the best buddy! Enzo is a 6 year old 1/2 pug and 1/2 Frenchie. He is a good tempered loyal dog. He does not like other dogs and needs to be an only dog. He is very athletic and loves playing with a soccer ball. He will follow you everywhere but is not needy. Does not paw for attention. Not a lap dog, he prefers his own space but loves sleeping on couch or in beds. Although usually sleeps gated in our kitchen. He does have some compulsive behaviors when it comes to balls, toys, etc. He will play to the point of exhaustion. We do not have little children but probably not a good fit. He is crate fed as there is food aggression with our other dog. He also loves car rides, weather permitting.

Story

Brock must go to a Frenchie savvy home!  He came to the rescue as an owner surrender due to some behavioral problems. We have seen Brock flourish with a consistent routine. He gets along wonderfully with dogs and cats & all the kittens in the foster home, no matter the age or size. He went from a dog who did not enjoy being outside, going on trips in the car & not seeming interested in interacting with us to the exact opposite. Brock has quickly become a velcro dog, wanting to accompany us anywhere we go.  He has done exceptionally well meeting other people, along with other dogs outside of our house. Brock can be an attention hog at times, demanding pets & cuddles all the time but doesn’t mind sharing attention with other animals. In his previous home, it seemed like Brock’s boundaries were not always respected, so with that being said, he’d do best in a home without children. He truly does have the best personality, he loves to play with toys, our other dogs, people and even our foster kittens. For an almost nine year old French Bulldog, he is in amazing shape. He had a full panel of bloodwork done which came back beautifully and had a dental cleaning. He is not the biggest fan of visits to the vet, but that is something the foster family has been working on to help desensitize him more.   ##1774126##
