Story
Gary is a one‑of‑a‑kind guy with a heart full of affection and a personality that’s impossible not to adore. He’s fun, he’s funky, and he has a soft spot for love, snuggles, and pretty much any pet willing to hang out with him. He’s fantastic with kids, happily soaking up their attention and joining in on the fun. That said, Gary does have one quirky habit: he loves to snack on things he shouldn’t. Tiny toys, mystery floor treasures, “forbidden candy” — if it fits in his mouth, he thinks it’s fair game. Because of that, a home with a designated play area or a room where small items can be kept safely out of reach would be ideal for keeping this silly boy out of trouble. As for his breed mix… well, your guess is as good as ours. We think he might be a Pug-Lab-Beagle combo, but Gary prefers to identify as 100% original. If you’re looking for a lovable, quirky companion who brings joy, laughter, and a whole lot of heart, Gary is ready to wiggle his way into your life.Gary's adoption fee is $125, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: https://www.acskc.org/adopt-1Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! Story
Hello, my name is: Sherlock Approx. DOB: 03/27/2025Weight: 23 lbsSex/Breed: Neutered male Pug mixRescued from: Overcrowded shelterSherlock is a gentle, affectionate puppy who absolutely thrives on love. If you’ve got a moment for a snuggle, he will be right there, ready to soak it in. He arrived in foster care as a blank slate, full of energy and potential. With time and patience, he has begun learning his basic commands—sit, stay, wait—and he’s proud of every new skill. More importantly, he’s discovering something even bigger: that he is safe, cherished, and capable of being brave. Sherlock is picking up healthy social skills with other dogs and responds beautifully to guidance. He is housebroken and crate trained, making him well on his way to being a wonderful companion. This sweet boy has already experienced far more than any young dog should, yet he continues to greet the world with a tender heart once he warms up. His rescue story started with him as a stray, looking for safety, but only finding threats and danger. Each day, he grows more confident as he learns that the people around him are here to care for him, not hurt him. Now, Sherlock is ready to join a forever family who will walk with him into a bright, hopeful future! If you’re ready to show a dog what it truly means to belong, Sherlock is ready to pour all of his love right back into your home. He is looking for a home with a fenced in yard and someone patient to help with his special feeding routine (he has a slower esophageal transit time and needs to be kept upright briefly after meals). His love for snuggling makes this super easy (and enjoyable) to do! Who has room for Sherlock? All our pets are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.Interested in adopting?
