Story
Alfie is a smart, curious, energetic young dog! He came to our home 2.5 months ago, adopted as a companion for our terrier mix, Fergus. While they have made great progress getting to know each other, Fergus has less energy and needs a companion with less energy. Alfie has learned a great deal in his short time with us! He is crate-trained, walks on a leash, and has excellent recall. He would be a great candidate for Agility Trials or fly ball! He’s a big dog in a small package! Full of personality. He also enjoys cuddling with his humans. Alfie is neutered, and weighs 17 lbs, up to date on all vaccinations, on heartworm, flea, and tick preventative. We want the best for Alfie, serious adopters only.

Story
Meet Margie — a 5-year-old, 19 lb French Bulldog with the cutest little snore and a heart full of love!   Quick Facts: Name: Margie Breed: French Bulldog Mix Age: 5 years old Weight: 19 lbs. House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes (prefers calmer ones) Good with Cats: Yes Good with Kids: Hasn’t been tested, but likely would be fine with calm kids Energy Level: Low to medium Fence Required: No   About Margie’s Breed: Our best guess is that Margie is a French Bulldog mix. French Bulldogs are small, affectionate, and charming companions known for their playful personalities and signature bat-like ears. They are typically easygoing, loyal, and thrive on human interaction, making them wonderful family pets. Because of their moderate energy levels and brachycephalic (short-nosed) build, French Bulldogs do best in homes where they can enjoy short walks, indoor play, and plenty of cuddle time rather than strenuous exercise. Their ideal home is one with attentive owners who are around often, as they love companionship and can be prone to separation anxiety. A calm environment with consistent affection, gentle routines, and a cozy spot to nap makes them happiest.   Margie came to the rescue with part of her ear missing (which doesn’t seem to affect her) and a bit underweight, but with proper nutrition and the comfort of a foster home, she’s thriving and showing her joyful personality. She’s potty trained, crate trained, and perfectly content in her crate when her foster mom is away. Although, she doesn’t love being left alone too long because she thrives on either human or canine company! Margie’s favorite thing in life is being with people—she loves everyone she meets and will happily follow her person around, curling up in their lap whenever she can.   Margie’s Marvelous Highlights: Potty & crate trained, well-mannered at home Dog-friendly, best with lower-energy or easygoing pups Cat-friendly, shows no interest in the resident cat Moderate energy, enjoys short walks and playful moments Easygoing & affectionate, thrives on companionship Food-motivated, passionate about treats and mealtime Loves naps, complete with her adorable snore Ideal home: humans who are home often, with another small dog for companionship or as a spoiled solo pup   Margie is a sweet, playful, and loving companion who doesn’t need much—just a cozy spot, some tasty treats, and plenty of affection. With her gentle nature and lap-loving personality, she’s ready to be cherished in her forever home!     Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We assist with coordinating transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!December 1, 2025, 5:11 pm

Story
Maguy, a five-year-old Frenchy, is a true little cloud of sweetness. Sensitive, gentle, and incredibly endearing, she enjoys every walk in quiet areas, where she walks beautifully on the leash. And when it comes to food, she never misses an opportunity; the kitchen is her favorite observation post! A huge toy lover, Maguy doesn’t discriminate: plushies, balls, squeaky toys, chew toys… she adores them all with the same enthusiasm. Every new toy is a small celebration for her. At home, she loves curling up on her blanket or settling into her favorite chair, always keeping a curious eye on what’s happening around her. She seeks affection, even if she sometimes lies down out of hesitation, as if to say she’s happy to receive pets, as long as it’s gentle. Social and friendly, she gets along very well with other dogs and relaxes as soon as she feels safe, letting her true sweetness shine through. Maguy will thrive with a calm, patient, and present family, one that can offer her the comforting, loving home she deserves, filled with stability… and unlimited cuddles.

Story
Brunson was purchased over two months ago by my grandson. Brunson has a rabies shot. He is a energetic dog that likes to play, protect the family, and explore his surroundings. He likes to cuddle and be around people he feels comfortable with. He gets along with children and other pets if they are not too aggressive. He had an exam in November. He requires additional testing. Sometimes his hind legs bother him. However, he still gets around very well. He is partially crate trained. Brunson is a gift for my daughter from my grandson. However, his mother is experiencing health issues that required surgery and she is currently in recovery. She requires additional surgery in Jan 2026. She is unable to provide care for Brunson. I have a family member in my care requiring surgery on Dec 16. I also have pending surgery. I am physically unable to care for Brunson in my home which is currently on the market to be sold. I am requesting to rehome Brunson now. Thank you for your consideration.
