Story
Duke is a gorgeous Blue Frenchie looking for a loving, adults-only, cat/dog-free home and to be your spoiled baby! He needs lots of love + room to move + play (not crated). Duke is healthy, affectionate, playful, and loves walks, car rides, jogs, and playing catch. He enjoys attention but is also independent and won’t cry if you’re busy. He’s quiet and mostly only barks when someone’s at the door and knows commands from Sit Means Sit Dog Training. Duke plays well with other dogs + socializes w/ cats but becomes temporarily territorial/aggressive at them when food/water is offered, so a dog/cat-free home is best. Duke shows the same behavior toward kids when they are nearby, so a kid-free home is required. We are rehoming him because we have a 2½-year-old son + it has become burdensome to keep them separated 24/7. Duke is a purebred Frenchie, microchipped, + originally purchased for $5,000 from A Kozy Kennel in Churchville, MD. ** All Duke wants for Christmas is YOU at his Forever Home!

Story
Bubba's adoption fee is waived for the month of August! Bubba is 12 years old and 26 lbs, but don’t let those numbers fool you. He is full of spunk and energy! Sadly, Bubba found himself at a rural shelter after his owner passed away and is looking for a loving home to ride out his senior years. Bubba loves to go on long walks and sniff every leaf and tree he can. His new year's resolution is to lose some weight to be ready to hit the beach in the summer, so the more walks the better. He walks well on a leash and is house broken. He appears to be a bit hard of hearing, which means you can grind those coffee beans early in the morning without worrying about waking him up. At home, he loves to stare out the window and watch people and animals wander about. He will let you know when he sees something interesting! Bubba loves cuddling on the couch, chewing on bones, playing tug-o-war, and giving everyone kisses. He is super friendly and loves to just be in the same room as you while you do your thing. Interested in learning more about Bubba? Apply at www.novapetsalive.org/adopt. *Bubba is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, was given dewormer and monthly preventatives, and is microchipped.

Story
Meet Rocco! Rocco is a Frenchie of substantial girth and even more substantial vibes. Rocco is a devoted little sidekick who moves at a very dignified, very unhurried pace. He’s essentially a snail with feelings. Rocco will follow you from room to room, eventually, and settle in for premium snuggles once he’s made his journey from the other room. No mayhem. No zoomies. Just loving stares, naps, and quiet companionship. He’s happiest being close to his person ~ your shadow, your couch buddy, your emotional support potato. Other dogs? They’re fine, he supposes, and he's happy to use them as pillows. Humans though? Elite. Rocco is the easiest, happiest old man you’ll ever meet, though he sometimes struggles with his indoor plumbing situation. He’s freshly neutered (so we’re hoping that helps!), but for now, let’s just say the belly band is more of a suggestion than a rule for him - Houdini himself would be impressed by Rocco’s escape artistry when it comes to these contraptions. As for his personality? A+ character: - Zoomies after baths (approximately 1.5 MPH). - Unintentionally deaf and occasionally “selectively blind.” - Will walk into walls, doors, or just wander off dramatically. - Refuses to use stairs, prefers to be carted around like he’s room service. - Enjoys car rides, naps in sunny spots, slow (very slow) strolls, and the concept of snacks. - Believes in doing absolutely nothing, beautifully. Comfy beds are also a must, though sometimes he only makes it halfway in. Rocco is a “whatever” kinda guy ~ happy to live life one slow, wobbly hop at a time, as long as he's with you. While his normal speed is 1MPH, he will speed up to 1.5MPH if he loses sight of you, and will even trot up to you once he finally finds you again - which is his equivalent of breaking the sound barrier. He loves being near his human(s) as much as possible, so he's looking for a family of snugglers who will be home with him most of the time (and will let him out for frequent potty breaks to avoid accidents). If you’re looking for a slow, steady, deeply loyal best friend who believes quality time means existing near you at all times, Rocco is ready to waddle into your heart. Rocco is approximately 10 years old and 33lbs. Fostered in Alexandria, VA Please apply at MirisHaven.org

She thrives as the center of attention (as she should) and has absolutely no problem letting you know she’s ready to play, cuddle, or be admired. With her expressive face and that unmistakable twinkle of intelligence in her eyes, Evie keeps life entertaining and full of laughs. At her young age, Evie is adaptable, trainable, and eager to learn. She’s very loving and loyal to her people and will happily be your sidekick for adventures, playtime, and quality couch time. An active home would be ideal for this energetic gal who enjoys staying busy and engaged.     Evie can be a bit dog selective—she seems to do best with small dogs—and she may be protective of her home, making her a devoted little guardian who takes her job seriously (while still being incredibly cute about it). If you’re looking for a dog with confidence, charm, brains, and plenty of personality, Evie just might be your perfect match. She’s ready to trade beach vibes for forever-home love—are you ready to be her person?  Apply today! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training.
