Story
Zara Hope is a tiny little bundle of joy, cuddles, comedy, and puppy sparkle wrapped up in the softest black-and-tan coat. Zara Hope is a 10-week-old, female, Pinscher and Husky mix, probably with a little something else mixed in to keep her at a nice medium size. She currently weighs 8 pounds and is estimated to be around 35 to 40 pounds as an adult. She has short, very soft dark black fur with beautiful light tan Pinscher markings on her head, chest, and legs. She also has one brown eye and one very light blue eye that gets attention everywhere she goes. Her ears are currently adorable little lop ears, but they are trying very hard to stand up and will likely be pricked up when she is grown. Zara has an excellent temperament and is just an incredibly happy little puppy. She is extremely friendly, outgoing, upbeat, cuddly, and full of life. She loves people, loves attention, and absolutely loves being picked up and carried around. Her favorite place in the world is in your lap, curled up next to you, or sleeping under the covers like a tiny heated blanket. She is slightly more interested in people than other dogs, but she still has a blast running, wrestling, and playing when she has dog friends around. She is being fostered with a 72-pound, female, German Shepherd Dog who acts as her nanny, and Zara loves playing with her. She enjoys other dogs, large and small, and would do great in a home with another playful dog friend. She would also be perfectly happy as an only dog as long as she gets plenty of attention, playtime, and snuggles from her people. She loves adults and kids and is extremely friendly with people she meets. Her behavior toward cats and her prey drive are currently unknown. For a 10-week-old puppy, Zara is doing wonderfully with her manners and training. She does well in her crate, is very quiet in it, and runs right in when it is time to eat her meals. She is working on potty training and already understands that outside is where she should go. When the door opens, she runs outside to potty. She may still have an accident or two inside each day, but they are small and easy to clean up. She listens well, comes running when called, and is eager to please. She is also very food motivated, which should make training much easier. Zara is fairly quiet overall. She mostly barks when she is playing, wants attention, or is separated from her person. Like most puppies her age, she is in the normal 10-week-old puppy biting stage, but she should grow out of that with time, patience, and redirection. She loves stuffed animals, rope toys for tug-of-war, sticks, leaves, and, every now and then, she may try to steal a sock or shoe just to keep life interesting. She is also a great car rider. On long rides, she will lay down and sleep, and she does not get carsick. At home, she is happy to curl up at your feet and sleep while you work at the computer, or settle into your lap while you watch TV. At night, she loves to sleep close to her person, preferably under the covers. She may still need a trip or two outside in the middle of the night, but she is learning to calm down when the lights go off. Zara is healthy, at an ideal weight, microchipped, current on all vaccines, and current on heart worm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention. She will need to be spayed when she is old enough. When she was rescued, she had a bad skin infection, but the infection is gone now and her skin is healing beautifully. Her fur is getting thicker, and she has no other health concerns. Zara Hope will do best in a home where she gets lots of attention, love, playtime, and chances to burn off her happy puppy energy. She loves going outside, but she also loves being inside with her people. She is the kind of puppy who wants to be with you all the time, including at night, and she will reward that closeness with endless affection. She is very well mannered for her age and does not need much work beyond normal puppy training and guidance. Whether she joins a home with another dog or becomes someone’s one-and-only best friend, Zara is ready to bring joy, laughter, snuggles, and hope to a very lucky family.
