Story
Please make sure to read the narrative below our pet's photos as you will find a description of our pet with all we know about them, our adoption fee info, and you will find the link to do our online Adoption Application which is the first step in our Adoption Process!     Please read ALL below where you will find answers about the pet, our adoption fees and how to do our adoption application!   Pet Description:  Sadie Mae is a 14-month-old, female Shep/Malinois mix, about 45-50 lbs.  Surrendered to us for being too destructive inside and outside.  She is good with dogs, cats and children.  Given her breed mix, she needs a JOB and/or LOTS and LOTS of exercise of her body and her brain!  Likely bored in the back yard so got herself in trouble.   Another dog to romp with might be good but could also mean two dogs getting into mischief so make sure you are ready for a Malinois mix as they are not a dog for most of us.   DOG ADOPTION FEE is $100. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more.  (If a dog is sponsored or has a waived or lower fee, that info will be provided at the point of adoption to the approved adopter).   The first step is to our Adoption Application here:  https://elmorehumane.org/adoption-application-online-form2.html .   IMPORTANT – we respond to your emailed applications and queries via email back to you.  Please make sure you have either added our email  (hselco@bellsouth.net)  to your contact list or that you routinely check your SPAM folder for our response just to be safe. If we do not receive a timely response we simply move on to another applicant.   To learn more about us, visit our Website at: http://www.elmorehumane.org;  Phone: (334) 567-3377 Fax: (334) 567-8774 E-mail: hselco@bellsouth.net July 22, 2024, 5:09 pm

Story
Hello, I'm Stella! I am a young Shepherd mix that was recently picked up by one of the kind deputies of Animal Control. I was hanging around a house not too far from a tennis center. I was looking for some help, because I couldn't find my way back home! The homeowner knew I could get all of the help I needed at the shelter so she called for a pick up! I waited my allotted time and was never claimed by my family. Now I am ready for adoption. I have all of my vaccinations for my age, I have a microchip, and I have been spayed. I hope you will find the time to come in and meet me!

Story
Hello, my name is Zoe and I am still scratching my head and wondering how I got left in a city park all by myself. I was wandering around when the park opened and one of the employees saw me looking lost. Animal Control was called and I have been waiting at the shelter for my family. No one ever came for me and now I am up for adoption. I am about a year old and if you can't tell from my picture I am a shepherd mix. I have all of my vaccinations, I have a microchip, and I have been spayed. One small problem did show up on my health check up. I am heartworm positive, but I am not worried! My friends at the shelter already have me set up to get my treatment started! Even though I am getting treatment you can still come see me and foster me through my treatment and then we can make it a "forever" deal when you finalize the adoption!!

All of our dogs are housed in private homes, we do not have a store or a shelter.  We do not show dogs to interested parties until they have an approved adoption application.  If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please fill out an adoption application on our website www.helpingshepherdsofeverycolor.com  You may also find us on facebook:  Helping Shepherds of Every Color Rescue. HI, I AM TRUDY.  I COULD BE THE BEST PRESENT YOU WILL EVER GET AND YOU COULD BE THE BEST PRESENT I WILL EVER GET BY GIVING ME A PERMANENT FOREVER HOME. I AM 1/2 TO 3/4 GERMAN SHEPHERD AND 8 MONTHS OLD. I HAVE HAD ALL MY SHOTS AND FIXED AND READY TO GO FOR YOU. MY FOSTER PARENTS LOVE ME AND I HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS. WHEN I WAS LITTLE SOMEONE WAS NOT GOOD TO ME AND I AM BLIND IN ONE EYE. SO I AM A SPECIAL NEEDS DOG, YOU HAVE TO BE PATIENT WITH ME. I NEED A WELL FENCED YARD AND LOTS OF LOVE AND ATTENTION. I LOVE EVERYONE AND EVERYBODY. GIVE ME A GOOD HOME AND I WILL BE YOUR BEST FRIEND. THANKS. TRUDY Trudy is a special pup.  She is very friendly and loving and she likes for you to sit down so she can crawl in your lap.  She wants to play with her foster siblings but they aren't really interested.   We don't know Trudy's background, but she has some slight physical limitations.  She can be walked on a harness but not with a collar.  She is sensitive to anesthesia and she is blind in one eye so may startle easy when approached from that side.  Other than that, Trudy is just a loving pup who needs a furever home.        July 21, 2024, 8:41 pm

She has been good with a female dog her size and a small male dog, but she is way too interested in bothering kitties.   Bitsy was in a foster home with kids and is learning not to jump on them.  She loves to play fetch but she also loves to cuddle.  Bitsy is great in the house and can stay uncrated while you're not home....UNLESS.....something yummy is left unsupervised on the counter. Then she might give in to temptation and help herself.  I mean if you leave it there, it must be for her, right?  July 21, 2024, 8:41 pm
