Minnie is a 1.5-year-old Husky/Shepherd mix who genuinely loves everybody and everything. She is amazing with kids and other dogs. I can’t take care of her any longer, if I can’t find someone by the 18th she has to go to the shelter.She is super friendly, curious, and full of high energy. Minnie is a potential perfect hiking or running buddy, and she settles down nicely inside after a good walk. Her favorite thing is destroying salmon toys.Minnie is smart. She knows sit, stay, come, and is house trained, but is not yet fully trained. She has a lot of potential but needs structure and guidance. She is completely up to date on her shots. We love her so much, but our schedule is just too busy right now, and she deserves an active family who has the time to train her and give her the best life.

Story
She was rescued from the pound in Nov 2025. She is hilarious, sweet and gentle, potty trained, does well on leash, and knows a few tricks. She loves her people, and has separation anxiety that I unfortunately don’t have enough time to manage. I am a young, first time dog owner, full time employee, and full time student. I’ve tried everything from training to medication, but I just don’t have the time that she deserves. She would thrive in a home with land where she can run around, and also have plenty of exercise. It would also be ideal to have an experienced owner who can work with her and her anxiety.

Story
Comet is an adorable, energetic two-year-old Husky/German Shepherd Mix, who loves the outdoors and will cuddle with anyone! Shy at first, he gets acquainted fast. Comet was acquired from a co-worker who was having financial trouble after having their third kid and needed to rehome their puppy. Unfortunately, due to ongoing mental struggles, and moving to Georgia soon, Comet will need a new, hopefully permanent home in Alaska to grow and get the love he deserves. Comet is a high energy breed, with a daily need for walks, entertainment, play, anything to keep him active. We've switched around his food a bit, but he seems to love the Purina One Adult formula. He loves dry and wet food, but we have him on dry for now. Comet is great around other dogs and kids, however I'm not sure how he holds up against cats. My only concern is his nails, as he hates getting them trimmed. Overall, if you want a playmate who will brighten your day and bring you on adventures, Comet is your guy!

Vida is a beautiful dog with a huge heart and a deeply loyal personality. Once she decides you’re her person, she absolutely adores you and loves being close to her family. She’s intelligent, affectionate, and has that classic German Shepherd combination of sweetness, sensitivity, and wanting to keep tabs on everything her humans are doing. Vida can be an anxious girl, so she would do best with a patient, confident adopter who understands that she may need some time to feel comfortable in a new environment. She thrives with consistency, reassurance, and people who are willing to let her settle in at her own pace. Once she feels safe, her loving personality really comes through. We’re looking for a home that will appreciate Vida for the wonderful, sensitive dog she is and give her the stability, attention, and love she deserves. She has been an important part of our family, so finding the right fit for her matters much more to us than simply finding her a home.

Buddy is an older gentleman with a whole lot of love left to give. After losing his owner, this sweet boy found himself at the shelter—and we’d love nothing more than to help him find a cozy forever home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by love. Buddy is affectionate, friendly, and a little rambunctious at heart! He absolutely loves being with his people and would happily tag along wherever you go. He enjoys nice walks, car rides (especially from the front passenger seat) , plenty of affection, and even a good stuffie to cuddle with. Stuffies seem to be his favorite toy! Keeping himself busy playing with them at times and not always being willing to “drop it”. This handsome guy is house-trained once he settles into a routine and has done well being left uncrated for a few hours at a time. He knows come, no and sit. Buddy is comfortable with handling and has been friendly with both men, women, and other dogs. Though Buddy has done well with other dogs prior to the shelter, shelter living has made him realize that he’d prefer to stay the center of his people’s world. Just how he’s always lived! Buddy does have a couple of things his future family should know. He may grumble if someone messes with his food, so he’ll need a home that can respect his boundaries around mealtime. Because of this, we think he’d be happiest in a home without young children. He also enjoys chasing small animals, so a home without small pets would be best. Most of all, Buddy is looking for someone who will appreciate an older dog’s special kind of love—the kind that just wants to be by your side. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate companion to share your walks, car rides, and couch time with, Buddy may just be your guy.
