Story
Sol ☀️ | ~2 years | 55 lbs | Shepherd-Husky MixIf you are an experienced owner of dog breeds like Shepherd, Husky, or Malamutes, keep reading.I’m Sol. I’m a very affectionate dog who loves her people deeply.I was rescued from a high kill shelter in the nick of time. I’ve been bouncing between fosters ever since, and I’m ready to just have a place to call home. Home changes are confusing, but I have been settling in well by the 4th day if you give me structure and guidance! I’m currently being fostered by an amazing foster family. At home I’m easy. I’m potty and crate trained, and I’m happy just hanging on the couch after a walk once acclimated to new home. I love cuddles and bonding time with my humans.I do love playing with dogs I connect with, but I need supervised to correct me if I get too pushy and dominant in play style. I match the energy and play style of the huskies and shepherds. The thing I struggle with is other dogs on leash and socializing with dogs. I get frustrated and it’s something I’m actively working on. I do well on quiet trails where I can be keep a distance from other dogs; it’s more the busy streets that are hard. But the trainer and my rescue family believes the training practice on quieter trails is going to set me up for success. Whoever adopts me would need to keep the training going and we’ll make sure you know exactly how.A dog-busy neighborhood probably isn’t the right fit at the moment. Neither an apartment. I’m hoping to find a home in a suburb with a fenced yard and access to trail walks.A dog sibling or friend would mean the world to me, because I love playing with dogs I connect with.I’ve been waiting for my person for a few months now. I hope that’s you.📩 Contact @PawesomeBaby to start the conversation.📸 More photos & videos: Instagram @PawesomeBaby—————————————————————————-Basic info:—————————————————————————-• Age: approx 1.5 - 2 yr• Weighs 55 lb• Potty trained at foster home.• People friendly• Dog friendliness - slow introductions and monitored playtime advised. You will be adopting a dog who got the care listed below -• Spay/neuter• Rabies, DHPP, Lepto, Bordetella vaccines• Dewormed• Wellness checkup, Heartworm, blood tests• Microchip registration with AKC reunited• Lots of tender loving care at amazing foster home!• Professional training help with leash walkingWe are looking for adopters in Alaska, Washington state or BC Canada. Please contact to schedule a meetup! Her adoption fee is USD 300. We charge an adoption fee for our precious dogs, to make sure they go to a good home who can afford caring for them as a family member. Dog ownership is a lifetime commitment of over 10-15 yrs.Training:—————-She needs help with leash frustrated greeting seeing dogs on walks. We are working with trainers to guide her. We’ll share all the information you need to continue the routine her foster family had been keeping. She is not suitable for dog parks, does well with 1:1 play dates after slow introduction.Training Resources:—————————————Regardless of who you adopt, we recommend training your pup regularly, to build an everlasting bond with your pup and help them continue to be an amazing canine citizen. We can provide a list of reputable trainers who use positive reinforcement methods to help you establish a training protocol and an everlasting bond with your newly adopted furbaby.—————————————————————————-[IMPORTANT]—————————————————————————-Below listed requirements are for any dogs we adopt out, meant for everyone’s safety.• If you have other dogs, then you must also be knowledgeable and have good hands on experience with running a multi-dog home to be able to adopt a dog from us. What’s expected of the adopter is just keeping basic house rules like (1) keep the dogs apart when feeding, monitor & put away left over food, (2) help them build mutual trust before leaving alone with treats, toys around (3) keep dogs out of kitchen when handling food etc• As with any dog, earn their trust around food handling. This is an essential training for every dog, so they learn to trust their new human. It takes only a couple of practice sessions around meal time with most dogs with no history of food guarding. Teaching to sit, then hand-feeding food & high value treats is one of the best ways to earn trust.• If you have children at home, they should be at least 8+ yrs, and know to safely & respectfully interact with dogs, to be considered for adoption. We think families with younger children will likely not have the time needed to exercise and nourish a new dog. And the time needed to train little kids to safely interact with dogs, read their body language & respect their personal space. Most dogs do not enjoy little ones clinging to them, pulling their fur, crawling or lying on them. We do not want to risk the safety of neither your child nor our dog. Follow @dogmeets_baby trainer on Instagram to learn more on this topic :-)Of course, we understand there are exceptions and some parents are on top with this. Please contact us if you are one of those exceptional parents :)• We discourage the use of choke, pinch, prong collars on our dogs. Training to walk on a well fitted no-pull harness is encouraged. All our dogs come with a “no-pull” harness. If needed for training, you can use humane collars like regular buckle collars, martingale collars or ‘gentle leader’.For adoption process details, check out PawesomeBaby.com and send us a message here.Thank you for considering to adopt a husky in need.God bless!

Story
Justice was able to be seen by Dr Snyder with Polar Eyes Veterinary Ophthalmologyduring his recent visit to Fairbanks. After a careful examination Justice’s diagnosis to her left eye is Phthisical globe – secondary to previous full thickness corneal perforation A phthisical globe is the end-stage, shrunken, and disorganized eye resulting from severe trauma, such as a full-thickness corneal perforation. Caused by chronic inflammation, low ocular pressure, and, in this case, severe perforation, which leads to permanent vision loss. I cannot imagine the pain this puppy was put through. Since she was not surrendered when it happened her eye is no longer painful. If she would have landed in a safe place after it happened surgery would have been done immediately. But now we are dealing with an eye which is no longer painful. So to schedule a surgery to remove it serves no purpose. If, however in her future her eye develops chronic conjunctivitis or discharge the removal of her eye needs to be strongly considered. Even with everything she has endured in her life, she is a very happy go-lucky girl. She greets everyone with enthusiasm, she is not shy, her tail is always going. And that’s the same with her brother. Both puppies have fantastic personalities. They kennel wonderfully, use the dog door to go potty and play together nicely. They are not a bonded pair and do not need to be adopted together. I was told they are German Shepherd / Malinois mix. They are both available for adoption. Folks who have an approved application on file can arrange a visit with one. Applications are found on the rescue’s website at agsrescue.com under forms. I want to again Thank Dr Snyder for fitting us in his busy schedule while he was here in Fairbanks, and for taking his time to explain everything in order for me to understand Justice’s medical needs.

Story
Born on 2/5/2025. Meeko came into the rescue from his breeder and was very shy and fearful. He continues to work on trusting people he doesn't know. He has a great boy who really wants to please, he loves playing with the other dogs and puppies here at the rescue. He kennels, uses a dog door to go potty, rides great in the truck. He will need to continue working on more socialization with new people and new places. He will do best with an experienced owner and a home who has a stable dog to help him feel confident. Once you gain his trust his fun goofy side comes out and will make you laugh daily. More photos can be found on the rescue's facebook page He is in the Fairbanks area An approved application must be on file before one can arrange a visit.
