Story
Sambar is an approximately 2–3-year-old German Shepherd mix with a playful, loyal nature and a heart full of love for his people. While his brother Moose is all about chasing tennis balls, Sambar is happiest simply being by your side. Whether you're relaxing at home, working in the yard, or taking a walk, Sambar enjoys following his people around and being part of the action.Sambar is house trained and would thrive in a home that can provide him with regular exercise, companionship, and continued training. Sambar must be the only pet in the home. He is not a good fit for a household with other dogs, cats, or other small animals. Because of his size and strength, we also recommend a home without small children. He would do best with an adopter who understands large-breed dogs and can provide appropriate guidance, structure, and supervision. If you're looking for a devoted companion who values time with his people above all else, Sambar may be the perfect addition to your family. His favorite place is wherever his people are, and he's ready to find a home of his own.To learn more about Sambar or to schedule a meet-and-greet, please call the shelter at 928-636-4223, ext. 7.

Story
Moose is an approximately 2–3-year-old German Shepherd mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for tennis balls! If you're looking for a loyal companion who is always ready for a game of fetch, Moose may be the perfect match for you.Moose is house trained and enjoys spending time with his people. He thrives on activity and will do best in a home that can provide plenty of exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation. Like many young dogs, Moose would benefit from basic obedience training to help him become the very best canine citizen he can be.Because of his size and energy level, we feel Moose would do best in a home without small children. He is not good around small dogs, and we believe he would be happiest as the only pet in the household. We also do not think Moose would be a good fit for a home with cats.If you're looking for an active, devoted companion who will happily chase a ball for as long as you'll throw it, Moose is waiting to meet you!To schedule a meet-and-greet with Moose, please call the shelter at 928-636-4223, ext. 7.

Story
Ari is sweet, gentle, and shy at firstAri Ari is a charming male, ready to bring boundless joy and love into your life! He is gentle and will make a great family and/or service dog. He is house-broken, crate-trained, and is a lifelong companion waiting to make unforgettable memories with you. Ari’s perfect match is a confident, patient, and calm family with some familiarity with large dog breeds. He would be happiest in a home with a large and secure yard, with daily access to walking. Ari will continue to bond with and gentle encouragement, providing him with the stability he needs to thrive. He should do fine with respectful children or cats with the proper introduction and supervision. Back Story Ari was part of a backyard breeder's litter of ten. The mother and father are well kept and healthy. All of the litter mates have been adopted, and all weigh in excess of 100 pounds. They were brought to the ranch at 6 weeks old and have been with us since. Due to our resource shortga eit has been difficult to get Ari and many of the dogs to dog adoption events. This is the only reason he is still here.    DNA results: 76% German Shepherd.   Behavior Profile Ari is a sweet, gentle boy. He loves quiet moments, affection, and snuggles. He is very intelligent, a quick learner, and thrives on praise. He tends to be shy at first but blooms into a loyal and protective companion once trust is built. He does well in a crate and in the house, and will bark when he needs to go outside. He may bark at unfamiliar things outside or while on leash, but is quiet and well-mannered otherwise. He is astute and will make a great protective companion for any family. He enjoys playing, hiking and swimming at the river.    Positive Attributes      ·  Loves quiet moments and gentle affection.      ·  Always up for a game of fetch or a romp in the yard.      ·  Professional snuggler and couch companion.      ·  Quick learner who enjoys training games.      ·  Loves to work with you and thrives on praise.      ·  Can live harmoniously with cats.      ·  Loves being part of a family.      ·  Already has great house manners.      ·  Guaranteed to keep you smiling. Story
Limeric is very timid but sweet once she feels comfortable. She is awkward with other dogs, she can seem to get along at first but they tend to dislike her eventually. She seems to be more people focused, wanting to play slap fight with you and bounce around howling with happyness. She is very talkative like a husky. House and crate trained, wonderful on leash, no pulling at all (unless she is scared and just needs patience while she calms down). Is timid meeting strangers, but she does find certain people she loves instantly, usually kids. Would prefer her to go with someone she loves. If she trusts you she is good at staying near you even off leash, though I have only tried in areas with no once else around, would need more training to be able to be offleash with distractions. She would be great with someone willing to give her time to bond with them!Guessed to be about two years. Spayed, shots up to date, microchipped. We rescue dogs to find them homes!
