'Minty' came to Fedwell Farm about a year ago. His wonderful personality has really come out and he is a foster favorite. Minty is very smart, you can tell him NO and he will not do that behavior again! For instance, the foster mom caught him pulling the stuffing out of a dog bed, she said NO and he has not ever done that behavior again! The beds are safe! Minty has the cutest grin. He should have had braces; we just love it when he smiles! His crooked teeth do NOT cause any eating problems. He loves people. He gets along with everyone! He even can be with dog aggressive dogs; he just is the greatest boy! Spearmint is 11 years old, probably a bit younger, but he is a senior boy. Minty does not seem to have any age-related disorders. He goes to the barn and helps his foster mom with chores. He can go for long walks, hikes etc., he is in great shape! He weight is approximately 80 pounds. Spearmint had been a volunteer favorite and walks very well on a leash. Spearmint can go for walks; hikes and his age does not limit him at all. How did you end up in the shelter? Lux is 7 years old and approximately 75 pounds. She should be enjoying her senior years with her family. We are hoping we can find that wonderful family to give Lux the loving home she deserves. The shelter wanted us to let any potential adopters know that she bit a 10 year old child in 2017. No details where given, but we see absolutely no behavior problems or aggression in her foster home. Who knows what happened, maybe the child pulled her tail. Lux is a bit shy, but with a tender touch and kind word, she will love you to the end of time. Although she is large, she would make a great apartment dog. She is happy to watch Animal Planet while her family is at work or school. Sweet Senior German Shepherd needs Love!All dogs are located in southeast Arizona between Benson and Willcox south of Interstate 10. Approximately 2 1/2 drive from the Phoenix area or 1 hour east of Tucson. Please let Carrie know if you have any questions or would like to schedule a meet and greet. Coco has had a rough life. She was picked up as a stray in December. Her ears are inflamed due to infection not being treated. She has a mammary mass that needs to be looked into. Poor girl did not deserve this neglect. She subsequently got sick in the shelter with an upper respiratory infection, but that has cleared up with medication. Coco is back from the vet with new dental and her other health concerns have all been resolved and she is ready for her new life! Coco is 8 years old and weighs approximately 85 pounds. Coco is a bit shy, but she warms up with a kind word and a gentle touch. Please come meet Coco and give her the love she should have had in her previous years. When no one claimed this sweet boy Fedwell Farm was notified that this wonderful dog needed help. We are so glad he joined our rescue. He is a foster favorite! Pearce is approximately 6 years old, and he weighs approximately 70 pounds. He is not a huge dog; we would characterize him as an average size German Shepherd. Pearce gets along with other dogs; he has nice house manners, and he has been a total joy. Pearce is very social; he gets along with everybody. Although Pearce the chicken test, he was involved in a cat killing according to animal control. But they also said he needed to be an only dog and that is absolutely false, he is living with 6 dogs in his foster home. Pearce loves toys and the kiddie pool. Anna is a smaller portable German Shepherd and weighs in at approximately 55 pounds. Anna was picked up as a stray originally but then the county adopted her out and she was returned. the poor girl was so traumatized. She was returned because the adopters' dogs didn't like her. Not her fault! Anna gets along well with other dogs; she is playful and a true love. Anna would love a home that would spend time with her, take her for walks, hikes or bike rides.
