UrsulaShepherd mix1 year/FemaleIntake date: Dec. 18, 202323-D383Hi! Ursula is my name, but I don’t know the Little Mermaid and can’t cast a spell and have never even been near the ocean. When you come meet me at my kennel, you may think that I’m grumbling, but I’m just very timid and once you take me out, I’m better. I am sure once I’m in a good home and with time and patience I will be the confident girl I was meant to be. I am 1 year and a Shepherd mix, I’m thinking the mix is cute whatever it is. Once home, please give me time to decompress and get used to what you expect of me. You will have to put in time to train me but with patience you will be amazed at how smart I am. I need to meet all family members, including resident dogs to make sure we can all get along before going home. I am spayed, utd on vaccines including rabies and I am microchipped. If you are interested in meeting me, pet viewing hours are Monday-Friday, Noon-7:00pm and Saturday, Noon-4:00pm.

Story
Greetings, mortals! I am Aries, a majestic male dog with a powerful spirit that rivals the might of the gods themselves. My lineage is a fusion of strength and courage, much like the mythical Greek warriors of old. As a German Shepherd mix, I bear the mantle of both protector and loyal companion, ready to embark on epic adventures by your side. Behold, my most distinctive feature: my big, floppy ears that listen keenly to the whispers of the wind and the secrets of the world around me. They stand as a testament to my unwavering vigilance, always attuned to the slightest rustle or sign of danger. Like the fiery ram that represents my namesake constellation, I possess boundless energy and a fiery spirit. With every step I take, I channel the might of the heavens, exuding the strength and grace befitting of a true Greek hero. My paws tread the earth with purpose, and my heart beats with the fervor of an ancient battle cry. But fear not, for beneath my divine exterior lies a heart overflowing with affection. I am not just a warrior; I am a loyal and loving companion. Together, we shall conquer every challenge and forge an unbreakable bond that even the gods would envy. So, dear mortal, if you seek a canine ally who embodies the essence of a Greek legend, look no further. I, Aries, the German Shepherd mix with big floppy ears, am here to join you on a quest of a lifetime. Let us create a mythic tale of companionship and courage that will be sung by bards for generations to come. Story
Meet Heidi, the magnificent 70 lb German Shepherd with a heart as beautiful as her black and tan coat. This sweet senior female is ready to find her forever home with a family who will cherish her gentle nature and loving spirit. Heidi's friendly disposition makes her an ideal companion for adults and kids alike. She's a joy to be around and gets along well with people and other dogs. However, cats might not be her cup of tea, so a cat-free home is preferable. Though she may not love the crate, Heidi is house-trained and prefers to be close to her human pack. She adores spending time outdoors, especially hunting mice and squirrels in a yard, making a home with a yard a must for her. Her backstory is one of triumph over fear and anxiety. After being found wandering a neighborhood, Heidi was initially anxious and insecure, but her foster family and their other six dogs have worked wonders for her confidence and happiness. She has turned into a playful, secure, and happy girl, no longer needing anxiety medication. Heidi is a versatile companion who enjoys walking, playing fetch with squeaky toys and tennis balls, and being a loving and nurturing nanny to her doggy friends. She's a devoted and faithful companion, always by your side, offering comfort when needed. Her ideal adopter would be someone who works from home or is retired, as Heidi thrives in the company of her loved ones. She gets along well with most dogs but may feel a bit nervous around more dominant ones. Heidi's charm extends to her adorable crooked ear, adding to her endearing looks. With her heart of gold and gentle nature, she's one of the sweetest and kindest girls you'll ever meet. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion who will bring joy to your life, Heidi is the one for you. Embrace this wonderful girl and let her fill your days with love, laughter, and cherished memories. With Heidi by your side, life will be brighter, and your heart will be full. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Hi people of San Antonio! My name is Ralf aka Ralfy aka Ralfy Palfy. My fosters gave me the last nickname because they say I will make someone a great Pal. You see, I was found on the side of the road barely alive after being hit by a car. I couldn't walk very well because my pelvis was broken in three places. But after visiting this place called the veterinarian, I started feeling much better. Unfortunately before my accident I had never met kind humans and still to this day, I'm very easily startled and scared of new people. It's going to take someone very special and patient to earn my trust. But once you earn it, I'm the sweetest and most gentle dog ever. I love love love chest rubs and ear scratches. But my number one love of all time is treats!!! I love all flavors so if you decide to take me home, don't be shy when shopping for me! I enjoy sunbathing and relaxing in my kennel. It's my safe place when I feel overwhelmed. I promise to love you if you promise to take the time to get to know me. I will do best in a quiet house with maybe 1 or 2 adults and an older mature doggy friend. I don't care much for traveling and prefer to be a homebody. I do love to play with doggy friends and don't mind cats either. I'm currently working on becoming more confident in public spaces. What do you say? Can you give me a shot? Ralf is kennel trained and potty trained. He is a local adoption only. His current foster is a trainer who is willing to offer two free sessions along with his adoption to set you both up for success and better help you understand what he will need and how you can help provide that for him. He is a Shepherd mix that weighs roughly 50lbs. Local adoption only $200 (in TX)

Story
Stanley is an adorable large dog that needs a special home. Estimated to be a Shepherd mix, he is a lovable dog with some quirks it is important to pay attention to. Stanley is dog selective so count this big boy out for dog park play time. He has gained a reputation at the shelter for being an escape artist, so he will need to go to a home with a tall fence. Stanley needs a home with patient owners who understand that he will require some training and lots of room to run around and play. Ask about him at the front desk to see if you are the perfect for this sweet guy!HSPC's adoption fee is currently reduced from $100 to $75 unless stated otherwise within the pet's description. Every pet that is available for adoption has been spayed/neutered, microchipped, wormed and is up-to-date on vaccinations including heartworm preventative (canines). Adopters are required to schedule a wellness exam with their veterinarian at their cost within 7 days of adoption. We are currently closed to the public and we will only respond to inquiries accompanying an application submitted through warmhearts.org/adopt.

Story
Koya is 2 years old. We got her from friends who weren’t able to take care of her. She is very spunky and full of energy. She loves playing outside and going on hikes. She is potty trained and kennel trained. She enjoys car rides. She loves playing tug of war. She loves kids. We are unable to keep her do to our new lease requirements for our home. My brother has 2 other dogs that are ESA animals and they will not allow us to keep her. She is a goofball and we would love to see her go to a good family who would love her and be able to spend time with her. She hasn’t been around cats but she has been around 2 other dogs full-time and has always been good around them.

Life happens fast, if you don't stop every once in a while and look around, you might miss it! I came to GDR with my siblings and Mama, who are all adopted now yaaay, and now I'm waiting for it to be my turn to be adopted! Dodger is a happy and excited boy who loves to wag his tail and makes lots of noise, just like his sister! He has a ton of energy to spare and wants to use it running around, playing fetch, or going on long walks. He'll need lots of activity and would be great with another active dog and active kids :) Dodger is a very sweet and polite boy also who loves to cuddle on the couch or bed, or sit down right next to you. Story
Meet Ranger, the intelligent and active Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and boundless energy. This handsome boy is a fast learner and has mastered essential commands like sit, down, wait, and shake. He's so clever that he tackled a level 3 puzzle on his first try! Ranger is a well-behaved and well-trained pup, making him a pleasure to have around the house. He's house trained, crate trained, and shows no signs of destructiveness indoors. However, he does experience some separation anxiety when his human leaves the house, which is why he's kept in his crate during errands. But don't worry, when he's playing in the backyard with his furry friend, he's perfectly content and doesn't exhibit any separation anxiety. Ranger is an active boy who loves going on walks, and he'll gladly accompany you on all your outdoor adventures. While Ranger is intelligent and affectionate, he can be barrier reactive, meaning he may react when he encounters certain barriers or boundaries. Patience and positive reinforcement training can help him overcome this behavior. This is very typical behavior for both breeds and he absolutely has to be adopted into a Mali/GSD knowledgeable family/ Ranger was in pretty rough shape when rescued and the vet initially thought he had an intestinal disease. Nothing was definitively diagnosed but the vet believes he has small intestinal issues. He is on a folate vitamin daily and will just need annual lab work and a high quality RAW FOOD diet. Ranger's charm and charisma shine through in the photos and videos provided, capturing his playful and loving nature. If you're looking for a smart, active, and affectionate companion, Ranger is the perfect match. Give him the love and care he deserves, and he'll reward you with loyalty and companionship like no other. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
