Story
Rowan is a handsome and spunky 10 week old mixed breed pup who is looking for a family to call his very own! Sweet Rowan is a social and affectionate pup, he likes to spend time cuddling, `ruff`-housing, and exploring! Rowan is a friendly boy who would make a wonderful addition to any family, but we think he will absolutely thrive in a home where he will receive lots of attention, playtime, and ongoing socialization! Rowan loves meeting new people and has done incredibly well meeting other friendly pups here at the shelter; we think he would do well in a home with other dogs, polite kiddos, and possibly cats! Rowan is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his puppy vaccines. This little low rider is all ready to find his new best friend today! Are you the human he has been waiting for?

Story
Rein is a 4yo German Shepherd mixed with Akita. Her mom was Shepherd and dad Akita. We adopted her when she was 8wks old. She has never developed confidence as a puppy or adult. She has never been mistreated. She is a great protector of OUR family and young kids. She is loyal and very sweet with us. She is also great with our 5yo husky mix (also needs a home). She will not chase people or other dogs and prefers to avoid them until they get in her space or try to touch her. She is a very skiddish dog who pees when she is nervous which happens alot. Rein needs an experienced owner who can spend time with her and help her stay comfortable. In the past she has been in training classes for over a month to help her confidence and that did not work. We need to rehome her due to limited space and downsizing. We prefer she stays with her husky "brother" who is super sweet. Perfect adopter would have a large yard with time to work on her confidence. She needs someone with patience and love.

Story
Age: 1 year 11 monthsWeight: 60 lbsDogs? Possibly! I get really excited and fixated on meeting other dogs. Another dog may also help me warm up to my new surroundings.Kids? Possibly! Due to his shy nature, he would do best in a home with older kids that will not smother him and give him space. About Me: Hey there! My name is Jake! I`m a sweet guy who loves running around outside and enjoying the great outdoors! I`m pretty smart and would succeed with someone who sets clear expectations for me. I can be shy with strangers, so you may need to meet me multiple times before being able to take me home. If you have the patience to let me warm up, I promise I will be an amazing companion! Come to the shelter and meet me today! If interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website by following https://www.ark-valley.org/adoption-matchmaker-application/. We recommend calling the shelter at 719-395-2737 after you submit your application to ensure that we have received it. You can also give us a call if you have any questions or would like to learn more about a specific animal. Walk-ins are welcome during our open hours Monday-Saturday 12-5pm, although an adoptable animal may be in a foster home instead of at the shelter, so we also recommend calling us prior to driving to the shelter to confirm the pet`s current location. If you prefer emailing instead, you can reach our staff at to info@ark-valley.org, however, time sensitive matters would be addressed quicker via phone.Note: We do not DNA test our animals to determine breeds. The listed breed(s) are either an educated guess from staff based on physical characteristics, or from information given by their previous home.
