Story
Hi, I am Buddy. I am a super sweet but nervous pup looking for a home. I like to eat treats, explore outside and take naps on soft beds. I was very fearful when I first came to the shelter and I can still take some time to warm up and feel more confident so I need a home without kids under 6. I would love to have a chance to meet you, warm up and become your best friend.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. AdoptaGSD.org   Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Hi, I'm Willow, a beautiful one year old white GSD. I’m For the first year of my life I spent most of my time in a crate, and I didn't get the care or guidance a should have. When I was rescued, I weighed only 32 lbs and my paw pads were burned from me walking in my own excrement inside my crate. I was pulled from this awful setting and sent to a shelter, which was overwhelming and frightening for me.  Now I'm living in a foster home. Every day brings something to celebrate - clean surroundings, gentle voices, meals that come regularly and people who are patient with me.   Because of my past confinement, I'm discovering life the way a puppy does, with curiosity and caution, and I'm slowly building trust. My foster canine brother has become my anchor. I adore him and having him by my side helps me feel brave enough to try new things.  I'm hoping to find an adopter who won't baby me or feel sorry for me, because my past is behind me. I just need someone who will give me time, clear guidance, and steady love as I continue learning obedience, confidence, and how to exist in the world without fear. A home with an even-tempered and playful male canine companion would be ideal. Also, a home without small children is preferred, because I tend to think everything and everyone is a great chew toy option. My fosters are teaching me what's chewable and what's not.  I'm starting to become who I was meant to be. If you're willing to be patient , consistent, and kind, I promise to meet you with quiet devotion and a heart that's learning just how precious life can be. If you are interested, please go to adoptagsd.org and submit an online application. My adoption fee is $400. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Although we do our best to keep our adoptable animals page as current as possible, the animals you see may already be in an adoption process.   January 5, 2026, 11:55 am

Not good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained,
Story
Schnitzel is a small sized German Shepherd who came from the Pikes Peak Humane Society. She was found as a stray on someone's property and as such her true age is unknown. The vet says she is around 2 years old. She is a very sweet and affectionate dog who does really well with consistent schedules and long walks or hikes. She is never aggressive ,though, when she gets freaked out she tends to run and hide. She is not fully leash trained yet but she is potty trained, house trained, and crate trained. She knows the commands up, come, sit, lay down, and spin. Schnitzel does have some significant behavioral issues. She is a very anxious dog and she has severe seperation anxiety when she is not around people. When she is experiencing seperation anxiety, she is destructive of her environment thus I recommend always putting her in her crate when you are leaving. Schnitzel is also terrefied of other dogs.
