Story
Jade is a 6-year-old, 71 lb German Shepherd with a calm and thoughtful nature. She is a bit shy and is still learning confidence, taking her time to trust new people. Jade would do best in a patient home with another dog to help show her the ropes and guide her as she adjusts to new experiences. She is calm but aware of her surroundings, and walks well on leash, though she may need a little encouragement in new places. Jade also enjoys finding cozy spots to relax and often seeks comfort in the dog igloos, where she feels safe and secure. A meet and greet at the shelter is required to ensure she’s a great fit for your family and any current pets. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Karmen is a 6-year-old, 74 lb German Shepherd with a calm and thoughtful nature. She is a bit shy and is still learning confidence, so she would do best in a patient home where she can continue to build trust with people. Karmen would thrive with another dog to show her the ropes and help her feel more comfortable in her new environment. She is calm but aware of her surroundings and walks well on leash, though she may need some gentle encouragement in new places. Karmen’s quiet and observant personality makes her a wonderful companion for someone willing to give her the time and love she needs to grow more confident. Story
My sweet dog, Zeus, is in need of a well experienced and loving home. I will be downsizing to an apartment out of state and can’t take him with me. He is a German Shepherd, parents are both GSD showline and working line. Zeus is more toward working line, so he does have intense energy. He will be best suited for an experienced owner with lots of space to run. Some unique things about Zeus: -Raised with other dogs and cats, so he will do best in a household with other dogs (and cats if you have them). -Professionally trained by the Art of the Dog, so he understands several commands and is great on the leash with proper training. -He LOVES our training sessions because it mentally stimulates him. -He loves puzzle toys filled with his own treats. -He’s incredibly talented and very protective. He will protect you after he fully bonds with you. Overall, he’s an amazing pup and I would like to find a compatible and loving home for him. I don’t want him to end up in a shelter.
