Story
Hi, I’m Alaska and just like the state, I’m beautiful! I, along with my pups and their father, were found abandoned. WAAL stepped in and found us amazing fosters, so our life has really turned around. Now that all nine of the pups are thriving and in good care, it’s time to find my forever home. I can still be a bit cautious with humans, but they quickly win me over. I fit easily into any household with other doggies and children because I get along with them all. I’m very food motivated and easily trained: I already know how to “sit” and “stay”. Since I was food deprived, I’ll need a consistent feeding schedule, or I’ll go in search of food. Nothing better than a good treat or bully stick! I'm potty-trained, crate-trained and ready to meet you! To meet me, fill out an application at waalrescue.org/adopt.

Story
We double-dog dare you not to fall in love with River! This sweet cuddlebug was discovered wandering around Riverside park. River was so scared at first that rescuers spent a whole week trying to catch her. Now River has decided she likes being safe and warm inside a house, so she's ready to find her furever people! An energetic girl, River would love to be part of an active household. She's potty-trained and crate-trained, so no worries there. River hasn't been around other dogs since being rescued, so if there are other dogs in the home River might need to meet them to make sure it's a good fit. To visit River, go to waalrescue.org/adopt and fill out an application.

Story
Moose has been in our family for eight years and has been a wonderful boy. He is smart, affectionate, and well-trained with manners. We are desperate to find him a good home that will love him as much as well do. He has been raised with dogs, cats, and kids and gets along with all of them very well. He just got a clean bill of health from the vet. Moose loves to sunbathe, go on walks, and play tug with a rope. His favorite activity is talk a car ride with the window down so that he can get lots of sniffies. However, he also enjoys conversation. He is a great listener and will tilt his head when you say something that grabs his attention. Moose is a mixed-breed. His genealogy test showed mostly shepherd, but a nice range of other breeds as well. He is microchiped, neutered, and just in need of a good home that will enjoy his quiet easy-going observant disposition.

Story
Meet Bronn - he's a 3 year old German Shepherd/Pit mix. I adopted him from the Enid SPCA in August of 2023 when he was about 6 months old. Bronn is an amazing dog, and I hate hate hate rehoming him, but I am not able to give him the kind of life that he needs. In the next few months, I am moving in with my partner. Bronn can be reactive to large dogs, and we've had no luck trying to introduce Bronn to my partner's two older dogs (a mastiff mix and a german shepherd mix). On top of that, living in the city is stressful for Bronn. He's frequently anxious and on edge, particularly because I live on a busy street with close neighbors - as does my partner. Bronn would do best in a single-dog home, ideally outside of city limits. He's his best self when he has adequate exercise, training, and attention. He'd make a fantastic companion for anyone with time to give him and experience working with larger dogs.
