I got gypsy when she was five weeks old. She had Parvo and spent some time in the animal hospital. She is a spoiled, loving, sweet dog. It’s always just been her and two cats. She loves to walk and loves your attention. She’s very self-sufficient though and does love to be outside. The only special need she has is taking an estrogen pill once a week to help with a leaky bladder.

We adopted Robbie almost a year ago from the Lawrence Humane Society. He is very sweet and playful. He is house trained and does not tear up furniture or shoes. He loves to play with other dogs BUT he has a strong prey instinct so is not good with little dogs or cats. We have two cats and have tried for over a year to correct this behavior but it has not worked. He would be great in a home with other large dogs or alone. He is playful with our kids but is a little too wild with our 3 and 5 year old sometimes (no bites or anything though) so I think he would be great in a home with teenage kids or just adults. He also is very good at jumping fences. We have a typical 4ft chain link fenced in yard and he clears that easily. So he would be best on a farm or in a yard with a privacy fence or invisible fence or something. All in all, he’s a really good, friendly, sweet dog just not a good fit in our home.

Because of his playful, high-energy nature, he would do best in an active home that can provide plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and ongoing training. A home with another young, playful dog would be ideal to help him burn off energy and stay engaged. He is also working on kennel training and will continue to improve with structure and supervision. Her dad is reported to be a GSD, and her mom—described as a very nice, hound-type dog—found her way to safety while pregnant, resulting in six pups, including Vera. In her foster home, Vera is proving to be a smart, observant puppy who is already picking up on potty training. She’s curious, engaged, and enjoys learning through routine and positive guidance. Like all puppies, Vera will need continued training, socialization, and structure as she grows.
