Story
Update for Bennett and Cole. It all began in December with the story of three very frightened homeless pups and the collaborative efforts of local animal advocates helping to find them a home of their own. You can now meet both Cole and Bennett on April 27, 2024 at the Carden Farm Dog Park! They will there 10-3 helping out at the Paws for Learning Booth at the Paws for a Cause Pet Expo...and looking forward to meeting their future families. They are ready to go home...either foster or foster to adopt homes. In late December, three young pups were abandoned at a church in Oliver Springs. They found shelter under a nearby house of an elderly couple who cared enough to feed them and who reached out to AC ARF. It didn’t take the pups long to learn that a covered shelter with food and water was a much safer place to live, and they all moved into a pen on their own accord! With reliable food, water, shelter and bedding these pups were already feeling and looking much better than when they arrived. But winter was coming and in late December, AC ARF arranged for them to be boarded at Norris Animal Hospital in Clinton, where they could decompress. Confident Frankie (‘ole blue eyes) was quickly adopted, and happily blossomed in his new home. By mid-February Bennett and Cole were happy and healthy, gaining confidence and trust in people and their environment. They learned that living is no longer a struggle and that life can be a lot of fun. We learned they are both smart and very dog social, and love to play with each other and other dogs (especially when they visit the dog park) and they love their food and treats. When Down and Dirty Dogs, Inc., (DDD) jumped in to help, we knew these dogs would be superstars. DDD https://www.facebook.com/downanddirtydogs is an East TN grass-roots non-profit that aims to improve the quality of life and adoptability of rescue dogs. It is now April and Bennett and Cole are participating in a board and train program at Meadowbrooke Kennels in Knoxville https://www.facebook.com/meadowbrookekennel where they are receiving foundational training; learning essential commands, basic manners, socialization, as well as getting exercise. They are now stellar at walking on a leash, and both especially enjoy hanging out in the agility field with all those fun looking activities at Meadowbrooke. An elderly couple that cared about hungry homeless pups began a process that turned into an amazing collaborative effort to bring these dogs to this stage of being ready for adoption. Will you join us ‘finish up’ these pups by fostering or fostering to adopt? These smart and playful boys come with a year of free training support from Meadowbrooke and have all medical expenses covered by Anderson County Animal Rescue Foundation. At 8-9 months old, Cole and Bennett are now eager to find their forever home. They are shy, healthy, smart, food-motivated, and friendly to other dogs. AC ARF is looking for a foster or foster to adopt families to help them learn what it is like to live in a warm home with love and affection. Having their own families would provide a sense of belonging to these pups so they can really blossom. Anderson County Animal Rescue Foundation (AC ARF) https://www.acanimalrescuefoundation.org is looking for a foster or foster to adopt families for Bennett and Cole, two 8-9 month old husky/shepherd mix breed pups. These pups have come a long way since they came into rescue…they have learned much, and we have learned much about them. These dogs are both very dog (and cat!) friendly, and would do best living with another dog or dogs providing some guidance. They are neutered and up to date on preventives and vaccines, and are calm, easy going, attentive dogs. They are still a little shy, but are beginning to learn they can trust people…even little ones! Cole is a black and tan Husky/Border Collie mix, Bennett is a tan, Husky/Shepherd mix. They each weigh about 40 lbs and their adoption fee is @$75. For more information or arrange to meet, reach out to ACARF by messaging the ACARF Facebook page, emailing ACARF2018@gmail.com, or texting/calling Katrina at 865-414-2491. If adoption isn’t feasible for you, please share their story or consider supporting ACARF, Meadowbrooke, or DDD to help more pups find the love and care they deserve.

Story
Adira was found running at large in Memphis and was subsequently brought to a veterinary clinic by a kind MPD Officer. She was severely emaciated and scared. “Addie” as she has come to be known, quickly made herself at home at her Foster’s farm while she gained weight and recuperated. She is now around 65 pounds and estimated to be 2-3 years old. Addie loves to play ball, go on long walks through the woods, run, ride in cars, and snuggle. She is wonderful for baths, tolerates nail trims, and more than anything, just wants to be anywhere her human is. Although she is high energy when the opportunity presents itself, Addie would make a suitable apartment dog for someone who works from home. Her foster family works from home and she spends the entire workday snuggled on her bed beside her foster mom while she works. Addie is kennel trained, but she is a large dog and would not be suited for kenneling all day while family or individual works. Addie will do best with an active lifestyle and plenty of time for play. She does need to be the only dog as she is an alpha female and does not share her humans or her territory. Addie is deeply loyal and very protective. She is friendly to new people if her person is friendly to them. Once adopted she will travel via private transport Rescue Vet (transport cost is $160.00) to a location closest to you. Story
Otis is a sweetheart and has a big heart and is very lovable with a lot of energy. He is a German Shepherd mix. He has been to dog parks and gets along with other dogs too. Otis knows basic obedience and is house and crate trained. Otis enjoys squeaky toys and is a big lovebug. He is up-to-date on shots and has been microchipped. All his belongings will go with him as well. He would do well in a home that has a closed fence or another large dog for him to play with.
