Story
Misty is large and in charge. At approximately 2.5 -3yrs of age she is about 74lbs, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, housetrained and on Proheart injection for HW prevention. She is a special lady that will require a steady hand and structure. She needs an experienced owner who won't mind continuing her training to help her overcome the effects of the lack of socialization in her previous environment and her naturally introverted personality to keep her focused and feeling secure. She will need a quiet place where there aren't a lot of visitors coming in and out, no young children and she will need to be the only pet. She does love car rides and we are working on going places, staring with quiet parks without patrons but will be working up to more heavily trafficked places. She is insecure but very intelligent, willing to please and very protective. She is strong but not overly stubborn and intimidating physically but very loving once she trusts you. She is very selective with whom she trusts so she will need that special bond with someone but I am confident there is someone out there who will have that with her and they will have the most loving, loyal companion out there.December 5, 2023, 1:08 pm

Story
I found Sadi abandoned on side of the road in Church Point. She was obviously dropped off and left as she sat in the same spot for 2 days before I picked her up and brought her home. I did not need another dog but wanted to help this dog find a home. She was malnourished, flea ridden, scratching uncontrollable and missing fur. I took her to the vet and she had severe mange and hook worms. She was treated successfully and is mange, flea and hook worm free. I posted before and and after pics. I have had her for 6 weeks. Whoever left this baby in this condition needs to be punished. Sadi is approx 7 months old appears to be part German Shepard mix and is sweet, beautiful, playful, great with other dogs and kids as well. She needs a home that she has plenty of yard space to run around and needs someone that has time to train her as she is very trainable. She loves chew toys and feeding time. She has had her rabies shot, heartworm tested and negative and on preventative.

Story
WOW! Don't miss out on this fella! No puppy pains here! This 1 year old boy is HOUSETRAINED, knows basic commands (sit, stay, get in your bed, lay down, and we are working on shake!), crate trained, does great in the car, doesn't chew or destroy furniture, is a champ at bath time, does a good job at the vet... what more could you want?! Then add all of this and you've found a wonderful friend: Tony is well behaved in the house, he's fun to be around, he can be left alone and trusted while youre gone, he's affectionate, sweet, smart, adorable, and obedient. Tony is the BEST! About this baby: Tony is SO CUDDLY and BEAUTIFUL! And those eyes--they're like a tiger! I know it doesn't necessarily look like it in pictures, but I cannot describe how SOFT and FLUFFY this boy's coat is... It's like a little cloud of heaven even though he is a short-haired dog. He is so cuddly that it is almost therapeutic to be around this sweet guy. This big boy loves to give kisses and I think he would simply smother you with love if he could. Extremely affectionate, this boy is definitely a people-oriented dog, though he loves to be around other dogs too. He is an extremely happy dog, always excited to see and greet you! And, just FYI, there is NOTHING cuter than seeing this boy with his toys--he constantly walks around with his favorites and wants you to chase him. This big boy is super calm inside, and when he is outside LOVES to swim if there is a pool or a pond around! He is definitely a water puppy! This big guy also does a good job of sleeping by your bed, waiting patiently until morning. And he is not a "barky" dog. About this baby's History: He was found in a subdivision, abandoned, in Texas. Everyone that met him loved him and he was taken in by a number of families while they searched for his owners, until finally he was taken on by the EKC Rescue. Tony has spent the last month in foster care, ensuring he has a clean bill of health, and learning as much as we can about him so we can place him in the perfect home! About this baby's ideal home: This fella is great with other dogs. He does well with both smaller and larger breeds. But when introducing him to new dogs at home, its important to do the process slowly as he has given some warning growls to some dogs before. He is strongly expected to do well with cats but he has never officially been around one. It is a possibility that he will jump on smaller children, so plan to put in some training if you have young ones. BUT I believe he will do very well with children invading his space (as they can often do) like pulling or tugging on him. Tony can get a little excited whenever voices are raised or whenever he sees his humans, so he would ideally have a calm mom or dad that can be patient and guide him in the right direction until he calms down. Because of this angel's size, he would do perfect with a family that wouldn't mind have a big beautiful boy running around...but it is definitely something to consider if you have elderly or very young children. Though he has only ever jumped up on someone once, he may need some more guidance in that area. He really is so sweet, calm, quiet whenever he is inside that you forget he's not a little dog! About this baby's health: This angel is heartworm NEGATIVE. Tony is neutered, up to date on shots, free of all intestinal parasites, and currently taking preventive heartworm and flea and tick. He is ready to go!
