Story
A shelter staff favorite for soo many reasons!!! OH LEXI, Sadly Dad went into the service and his time away multiplied, Caregiver left with developed some major medical concerns. So sadly LEXI is looking for a loving new home. She goes outside to potty but she should be let out on a regular basis. LEXI has been on a kidney dog food here and has been doing soo well. She bounces around now and is soo much better but we're thinking she should be kept on the kidney food both dry and wet if possible. Anyone interested in this most deserving dog should research the cost of the food. An occasional Steroid may also be required but she is soo worth it. Adoption is only $25.00 and $10.00 is refunded upon proof of updated rabies.

Story
Captain came to us as a cruelty case, so he is going to need some sweet love and time to adjust. He is timid around men but with some time and assurance you are not going to hurt him he comes around. His skin is healing from an infestation of fleas. We have treated it and his hair is starting to regrow. He could use some groceries but not a lot. His large frame and lack of hair make him look very malnourished. Captain has been nothing but a fun-loving young man since he has arrived. Warning, he does love tennis balls so that is a must that you buy him tennis balls.

Story
Delta Dawn is a work in progress, trusting first. Delta Dawn is a pretty girl who looks to be a Black Shepherd possibly. She is suspicious of new people and situations. She loves treats though, so I'm able to work with her a bit. She shuts down if I touch her though and that just looks like her laying down and her wishing it was over.  Delta Dawn seems to like the old dog here, but is not impressed with crazy young dog antics.  She is a smart girl, and keeps her crate (overnight) clean. During the day, she has doggie door access to the exercise and play area.  She does haul all of the toys from the outside to the inside, and really prefers to stay in the heated building.    ##2621098##

Story
This beautiful male German Shepherd Lab pup is about 5-6 months old and has a marvelous temperament. I suspect he was dumped because he knows nothing. But so far, in just 6 days, he will sit on command, will sit and wait for his dinner, will let me take his dinner bowl from him and make him sit again until I put it down. He also has stopped jumping all over me, as he realizes that is not permitted here. He will lie down now and give me a paw. I have had 6 days with him and I can see he is very smart and it will be fun this week to see how far I can take him. This Monday he will get neutered, a 4 DX test will be done for Anaplasma , Erichilia, HW and Lyme disease. He will get a Rabies, and DHLPP. He will be Neutered and started on HW prevention and Flea /Tick control. He will also get a Home Again microchip with a prepaid lifetime registration and 30 days of free Pet Insurance. Story
Is such a good dog. Sweet with the children and isn’t very hyper. Loves to cuddle and get pets all day. He does get zoomies sometimes, but they only last for a minute or two. His behavioral problems are with food. He has very bad food aggression. You can’t eat without him standing around waiting for some, and if he does get some, he will growl and try to bite you if you try to take it away. He has bitten before a few weeks ago, but it didn’t cause much damage. We just do not have the ability to give him the training he needs, which is upsetting as he is perfect every other way.

Story
Meet Mesha 🐾 Mesha is a beautiful German Shepherd/Husky mix 2 years old as of Christmas Eve. She is sweet, affectionate, playful, and full of personality. She loves walks, playtime, chew toys, and being close to the people she trusts. As a young, high-energy working breed mix, Mesha does best with structure, consistency, and regular physical and mental exercise. She enjoys playing with kids and other dogs but can become overly excited, so supervision and clear boundaries are important. She is still learning impulse control and benefits from redirection, especially with her love of chewing. Mesha has a strong prey drive and is not suitable for a home with cats or small animals. She can be cautious with new people and vocal with unfamiliar dogs. Mesha would thrive in an experienced, active home committed to continued training. A home with dog-savvy adults and older children preferred.
