Story
Foghorn A18243455 lb. spayed female, approx 1 year old -Young, beautiful and ready to play!-This stunning gal loves toys and has puppy antics when it’s playtime! She’s wiggly and paws at you quite often to get you to interact and play more! Tug and fetch are winners in her book!-She enjoys pets and affection but it quickly turns into “oooh…more playtime?” 😂 She’s young and full of life!-She loves sniff walks and time exploring out in the yard-She is treat motivated, sits, waits patiently, and takes them very gently-She’s decent on leash, put in puppy like fashion, she wants to go in all directions. Bonus is that she only pulls moderately and will respond to correction nicely.-She’s a young gal who needs and active family to play with…..and one that will guide her to be the best she can be!-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids •Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit

Story
Lights Out A18240942 lb. spayed female, approx 7 months old -Playful puppy who has a zest for life!-She is very playful and only settles in for pets briefly before springing back into “play mode”!-She’s more of a rough and rowdy player but keeps her manners in check for being such a youngster-She is treat motivated and is quickly picking up “sit”-Now…her food manners still need work as she can get jumpy when treats are involved-She seems smart and easily trainable-She needs to work on leash walking still, but nothing that you wouldn’t expect from a puppy-Will need some puppy training. Please keep that in mind if you want a puppy. They require time and patience to be the best that they can be! -Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper introsUnknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids •Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. Story
🐾 Hey everyone! It’s me — RIKA (rhymes with Like‑ah!) I’m a gorgeous 10‑year‑old German Shepherd, and I’m here to tell you a secret: I am missing one hind leg… and guess what? I’m still AWESOME! Seriously-three legs, full heart, same amount of sass.💛✨ 🌟 Let me brag for a sec: I’m a sweet, snuggly, people‑loving queen who adores her stuffies. Give me a soft toy and I’ll carry it around like it’s my job. Want to play fetch? I’m basically a professional. Being a tripod doesn’t slow me down — I just do life with extra style. 😉 💛 Here’s what I’m bringing into your life: 🏡 House‑trained (I’ve got excellent manners.) 🚶‍♀️ Short, chill walks? Perfect for my three-legged trot! 👧 Kids? Love them. More humans = more love. 🎾 Stuffy connoisseur & cuddle enthusiast 😌 Calm, loyal, gentle companion 🐶 Expert at hopping into your heart 🚫 One tiny requirement: I need to be the only pet in my new home. I prefer being the star of the show — no other furry competition, please. I’m happiest when I’m your one-and-only. 🐶 Ready to meet your new best friend? If you want a brave, sweet, relaxed, three‑legged superstar who will love you forever… Choose me — Rika! Apply to adopt me today. 💛🐾
