Story
Dawn is a sweet and affectionate young pup. She came to us after a personal matter affected her family and she needed placement. She is very affectionate, showering people with big hugs and kisses. She would benefit greatly from some 1:1 training time. She has yet to learn that we can love big without such power. Because she has a lot of power in her jump, she may not do great with younger kids who are more susceptible to being knocked over - at least until she is trained. Dawn is wicked smart and picks up on cues quickly. She came to us not housebroken but we were able to train her in 2 days time. She is eager to please - eager to love - eager for your attention and affection. Dawn is spayed, up to date on her vaccines including distemper, bordetella, and rabies. She has received her latest monthly dose of flea & tick preventative and is heartworm, Ehrlichia canis, Lyme's and Anaplasma negative (4DX). Dawn came from a home with two other dogs and small children. She had no issue with those dogs however we have not tested her with other dogs at our shelter. She doesn't seem to mind the other dogs though. We don't know how she would do with cats. She seems super curious about those in her world and surroundings. Dawn is simply waiting for a family to fall madly in love with her. We know they are out there!

BOGO Adoption!Jam (Darker 1.5yr old) & Jelly (lighter 1yr old) Female GSD mixes. These sisters are a litter apart and ask to hopefully never be apart again! Now they do not have to go together but they would be rather happy to stick together! Adopt both gals for the price of one! $200 plus tax. Both girls right around 65ish pounds. New to the shelter, unk with dogs other than themselves/kids/cats. Very happy, playful pups! Adore snacks. We do our very best in providing truthful information about our adoptable dogs. If you do not see information about one of our dogs’ personalities, it is because we do not know much about them yet. We do appreciate a dog meet and greet to see if the dogs are compatible, an appointment is helpful but not required. We can complete a cat introduction at the shelter in a safe manner to get a sense of the dog’s behavior towards cats. With that knowledge, we will provide a blanket statement that you are ultimately responsible for keeping your cat safe. We recommend crate training for all our dogs while they adjust to a new home environment. Please bring along your family to meet the dog you’re looking at to see that it is a good fit. Also bring landlord permission for adopting a dog which includes any breed or weight restrictions.

Story
7-year-old female German Shepard. Very sweet gal, has a little wobble to her walk! Came in as a stray unable to really walk or stand with an atrocious ear infection! She now can strut her stuff with a wee bit of a sway about her. Dusty is a sweet gal, who absolutely loves snacks. We haven`t gotten to see her around kids/cats/other dogs. Adoption fee is $200 plus tax. Find us on Facebook to be updated on events and shelter news or visit us at WWW.THEHSKMC.COM. Dogs up for adoption at the Hawk Creek Animal Shelter are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested negative (if age appropriate), given initial vaccinations (a booster may be needed), given flea, tick and heartworm preventative, & dewormed. Please visit our website for prices and more information about our hours. No pre-applications are accepted, please come to the shelter with your family with no appointment needed. If you have questions, please email (shelter@thehskmc.com) or call us (320-235-7612) and we’ll answer the best we can. Potty training is not guaranteed nor implied.
