Story
On June 10th someone followed a lactating mama dog to an abandoned house... where she was caring for 6 small puppies. Mama Courtney would not let anyone near the pups. The finders began feeding mama to gain her trust. A few days later they went to check on the puppies and they were no longer there. They searched all over for them. They feared the pups had been killed by predictors. Then, a couple weeks later, Mama was spotted with her 6 pups in an orchard. A volunteer went and rescued Courtney and her pups on July 2nd. When they were first rescued, Mama Courtney literally slept for several days. Before they were rescued, Mama had probably been staying up all night to protect her young puppies. Now she feels safe and she knows her babies are safe! They were all initially placed in the same foster home. It was too much for the couple who were fostering them so we had to split them up into three foster homes. Courtney is a sweet dog and an amazing mama. The puppies each have unique personalities! Courtney DOB: ~6-10-2019Puppies` DOB: ~5-14-2020Located in Las Cruces, NMAll of the puppies had been adopted. Gene and Axl were adopted together. The family returned them to our rescue on Feb 27, 2021 because they were not experienced enough to handle two very active older puppies.Courtney (mama dog) still has not been adopter. She gets along great with other dogs. Courtney needs a yard with a minimum 6` fence. Gene and Axl have lived together their entire lives. We would like to find another adoptive home for them TOGETHER. Adoption application can be downloaded at www.CherishedK-9.com

Story
Loving owner unexpectedly pass away and other family is unable to provide appropriate housing. Ideally would like to rehome them together but would likely be fine apart. Zoey is a sweet 11yr old female Shepard who loves belly rubs and giving kisses. She is still active and enjoys playing ball in the yard for short stints. Snuggles on the couch, yes please! Currently lives with another dog Buddy, a 10yr black shepard lab mix and a cat. No small dogs for her. Will need a 6 ft enclosed yard, she can still jump! Buddy is a 10yr old sweet male shepard lab mix that loves to sniff the yard. He is very shy and a bit anxious, but once he trusts you he loves bum scratches. Fine with all other animals. Not a fan of thunderstorms or fireworks and wants to be with his people then to feel safe. Smart boy that can open doors to lie on a comfy bed. Also needs 6ft fence, he’s a bit of an escape artist. Both love car rides and trips to Lowe’s! Healthy and neutered.

Story
I have a 10-11 month old German Shepherd male named Wayne who weighs around 65 lbs. He is a very smart and loyal dog that I was given by a coworker and after about 3 months of having him, I came to the conclusion that I would like to provide a better home for him. It is more of a time related thing on my end as I am a student and work part time, not a behavioral issue that is causing me to want to give him a better home. He is vaccinated, he is not chipped or neutered. I am looking for a new home that can provide him more time and exercise, a larger yard to roam in, a safe and caring environment that will allow him to grow and mature. I have full faith that he would be an amazing dog for anyone that is willing to take the time to love him well.
