Story
Sasha is being fostered in PA. Sasha needs to be an only dog. She does not like active dogs Sasha can ONLY be adopted to a home with older children or all adults. Sasha is NOT good with cats. Sasha is spayed. Christmas time is here, soon a new year will dawn, and I’m still patiently waiting for my furever home and that special family to give me lots of love and belly rubs. I enjoy walks and will do OK without a fenced yard if you take me out on walking adventures. If you have a fenced yard I will run and play with you. I just enjoy the company of peeps. I don’t care to be with other dogs, just be by myself with my humans. I am a good girl in the house…unless you leave tasty morsels of food on the counter. Then I may just have to help myself! I know Sit, Down, am learning Wait, but I don’t really want to wait, hee hee. I also do pretty well on a leash. I’m still working on some other things like no jumping up on my peeps. I just want to greet and say Hi and give kisses and hugs to my peeps. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Dirk has been with us almost 6 months now! Dirk came in as a stray and was never claimed 😔. Overall Dirk is a sweet goofy boy and is VERY treat motivated which helps tremendously with training. He did well in a recent meet with Athena, another GSD at the shelter. He just wanted to play with her. He is super smart and learns quickly. He is a dog that needs mental and physical stimulation, so as you can imagine suffers in a shelter setting. With kids, they would have to be old enough to understand boundaries as Dirk has some spine issues & wouldn’t be one to tolerate climbing on him or such. He is a strong boy, so needs someone that can handle that. 💪

Story
Athena is around 8 years old and came to us as a stray and her owner never came to pick her up. For her age Athena still has so much life left in her and love to give. She does not show well in the kennel setting but has done well meeting new people with slower introductions. She came in pretty scroungy looking, thinning/missing hair, flaky skin, underweight. She is filling out wonderfully and her skin/coat is getting so much better. It's so weird what just a little TLC can do for an animal. If she loves you, she loves you…and you can’t help but love her back. 💕She is other dog selective, but would likely do better with a calmer dog that wasn’t in her face. She has met kids and done well. We are not sure with cats, but she doesn’t seem interested.

Story
Briggs is available but is not at our shelter. He is being fostered by Canine College New York (see FB page) 315-277-2753 , and meet & greets will be done at Canine College.FB post from Canine College: Briggs is coming along very nicely. Like every dog he has his own personality and quirks. He has issues with barriers and can get overexcited when he meets new people. So we are working on neutrality. Be neutral around people, neutral around dogs, learn to control your excitement.Briggs is fully e-collar conditioned on a Mini Educator and has a recall. He is overall a super happy dog. However he is a German Shepherd Dog and can be defensive in certain situations. As long as his new prospective adopters understand and respect who and what he is, give him a solid outlet and follow some easy rules (nothing crazy, just very basic management) we don’t foresee any problems with him.We are also happy to provide free private lessons (on site and inhome) to help with the transition. We feel he is ready to start a new chapter in his life and find his new forever home. He is truly a joy to work with.We suggest a home that has no other dogs, though females shouldn’t be an issue. He is neutral to dogs with us. No small children. We don’t know how he is with cats.
