She was rescued from the streets of Puerto Rico by our team, so she had a rough start to life -- but you would never know that due to her warm heart and friendly disposition. Valka flew from our Sanctuary to New Jersey on December 28th, 2025. She has been doing wonderfully in a foster home ever since. Here's what her foster parents have to say about her: "Valka is very submissive and friendly with people she knows. She takes a little time to warm up to new people, but will eventually become very attached. She initially wasn't a fan of crates but has been getting used to it, now settling in there during the day while I work. She LOVES her dog bed - she sleeps all night on it. Her personality is puppy-like; she'll steal shoes or other small items and bring her to her bed. Not to tear them up, just to have them close by like friends!
