🐾 Meet Emma – Your Future Best Friend! 🐾 Emma is a 3-month-old female German Shepherd (best guess) with all the intelligence, curiosity, and playful spirit you would expect from this amazing breed. She is already off to a fantastic start and is ready to find a home that will continue guiding her into the incredible dog she is meant to be. Emma is doing wonderfully with potty training and has had no accidents since her first week in her foster home. She is also doing great with crate training, sleeping comfortably in her crate at night and relaxing there when her foster family is away. She gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home and enjoys their company. Emma is also great with the grandkids who visit frequently, though like most puppies, she is still learning her manners. She can be a little jumpy and mouthy during play, but this is all very typical puppy behavior and something she will grow out of with consistent training. There is also a resident cat in the home who tolerates Emma just fine. Emma is learning boundaries and has already discovered that getting too close might earn her a quick correction from the cat. Emma will need a breed-knowledgeable home that understands the needs of a German Shepherd-type dog and is committed to continuing her training, structure, and socialization. She is not a good fit for apartment living and will need a home with space to run, play, and thrive. Emma is very smart, catches on to training quickly, and is a bit vocal, which is typical for a young shepherd learning to express herself. Emma is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines and preventions. Ash The Personality: A Sweet, Clumsy Shadow Ash is a 9 year old German Shepherd Ash is a "Velcro Shepherd" who is entirely devoted to her human leader. She has made incredible progress with her separation anxiety, moving from a 30-minute limit to up to 6 hours of solo time. She is a "toy girl" who finds comfort in carrying and nibbling on soft plush "pacifiers" to soothe her nerves. Social Dynamics: "Socially Illiterate" Ash lacks the basic "language" of dog play. She never learned how to interact properly, which leads to misunderstandings in a pack environment. Lack of Play Style: Ash does not know how to play. She is "clumsy" and erratic, jumping all over the place without the typical social cues (like play bows). Other dogs often interpret her awkward energy as a threat. Targeted Conflict: While she lives peacefully with a 10-year-old male, she has a severe, ongoing conflict with a 12-year-old female. This includes low-growling and proactive attacks that have resulted in injuries. High Arousal & No "Off-Switch": Once Ash is in a conflict, she does not respect "back off" signals. She will continue to press an attack even on a passive dog and must be physically pulled off and held back by her handler. Daily Management The "Pumpy" Walk: She gets very excited (high arousal) when the leash appears but settles into a manageable walk once moving. Leadership Needed: Ash needs a leader who can "be her social coordinator." She is highly food-motivated, which is the best way to keep her focus on you and away from other dogs.
