Story
Barbie is a sweet and lovable shepherd who found herself on the euthanasia list. When she came into rescue she was immediately just the most loving and sweet dog. She wants to please her people more than anything and play with her foster friends. Barbie is a little on the quieter/shy side initially but she can immediately start to warm up to you and want all the hugs and kisses! She is GREAT with other dogs! Barbie can be scared of smaller children and sudden loud noises - so a home with older children (teens) would be preferred! Barbie would make a great companion for anyone!

Tucker is a playful little guy who is in search of his forever home! He is approx 14 weeks old and should grow to be a medium sized dog! He LOVES LOVES LOVES to play with other dogs and is overall an active little guy. He loves to play fetch and even brings the ball back! He does not love being in his crate, however he will settle. He is house trained, knows how to sit and stay! He is an active boy who is looking for active family. Tucker is still learning his manners because sometimes he likes to be the boss - but he is a great guy and trying hard!

Story
My siblings and I were born right here at Kind Keeper the day before Valentines Day. I have no idea why I'm still at the shelter after all this time! I like to run and play. I've had all my puppy shots and can go on walks. I'm learning how to sit and behave but...you know it's hard when you are a puppy. My spay surgery, at one of our veterinary partners, is including in my adoption fee. Adopters must be 23 years old.

Story
"There is a gentleness in her eyes that I see. I hate to see healthy, non-aggressive animals euthanized". That was the email we received about weeks ago in regards to Eleanor. She was on her last day and no other rescue had stepped up to take her. We were really her last chance. 1 week later, and here she is with us. We named her after the finest car in "Gone in 60 Seconds". And, truly, if she got off her leash, she would be gone in about 0.6 seconds! Eleanor is painfully shy and scared but lets us love on her and doesn't try to get away. She does well in a crate. She needs work..lots of it, but in her eyes, we see hope too. She is not currently for adoption but can be sent to an experienced foster home. Reach out to us via email if you are interested in fostering Eleanor. She is a diamond in the rough.

Story
Goose is a 7 year old neutered male that I am fostering to locate a new home. Although he is breed restricted in some rentals, he is a lovable, loyal and gentle dog. He is protective of those he calls his family. He adapts very well to schedules and loves being outside, so a yard would be preferable. He loves children and enjoys playing fetch and keep away with his toys. Tummy rubs are the best! No health issues and is ready to become a new family member or your companion. If you think you could be Goose’s person let me know! NO REHOMING FEE!

Story
Parker is a spunky, energetic and playful boy. He is incredibly smart and very fast. We think he is about 4.5 years old. Parker came to us from a shelter which was unable to provide any information about the first year of his life. Parker loves to be outside. He enjoys chasing a ball and also taking naps in the sun. He is crate and leash trained. Parker has enormous energy and requires daily exercise to channel his energy.  Parker doesn’t do well with children because of their high level of activity and noise.  He does have a very high prey drive, like a lot of shepherds.  Parker likes quiet, order and routine so an adult-only home is a must for him. Parker lived in a home with a cat for two years and though the two were not friendly, they lived together peacefully. Parker would prefer to be the king of his castle and an only dog.  He has interacted with many other dogs without incident.  However, he can become  uncomfortable meeting new dogs or people while on leash or otherwise restrained (in crate, behind gate, etc).  Parker will do best where he has space to enjoy outdoors and plenty of attention from his people. A secure fenced in yard is a must.  Parker needs an experienced handler to help guide him.  Parker would love a family of his own so he can give them love and loyalty.   Parker’s rabies vaccine is good through March 2025. He has had regular veterinary care and is neutered and microchipped.  If you are an experienced German shepherd home that wants a loyal and loving companion to share your life with, please contact BMSR1313@gmail.com for more information.  THIS IS A COURTESY POST.  Blue Moon Shepherd Rescue only adopts to applicants in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.  If you are interested in being considered to adopt this dog, please fill out an online application by clicking here.   July 12, 2024, 9:54 pm
