Story
Hazard is a handsome male German Shepherd who was brought to the HSOV on October 24, 2024 by the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden along with Moose (a male Mastiff) who had also shared his home. Hazard was approximately 9-years old at that time. He and Moose had been kept in safe-keeping custody. Both boys are now available for adoption since their owner surrendered Hazard and Moose to the dog warden/HSOV on September 3, 2025. Hazard has a blond medium-haired smooth coat, a long bushy tail, and a beautiful German Shepherd face with dark brown eyes, a slender muzzle, a chocolate brown nose, and extra-large erect ears. Hazard and Moose have shared a large suite in our Safe-Keeping Building since their arrival where they have access to a private outdoor 'patio'. His owner reported that Hazard is NOT good with cats. Hazard underwent surgery on January 15th 2025 for the removal of a couple of masses on his lower back. He was also neutered and given rabies vaccine while under anesthesia. Hazard is a fairly big boy who weighed 77 lbs on October 24, 2024. Hazard and Moose are being listed as a Bonded Pair since we feel that it it is their best interest to find another home together. These updated photos of Hazard were taken on September 28, 2025. Thanks to HSOV Volunteer Jennie Payton Sherrard for accompanying Hazard for more flattering outdoor photos. Since Hazard and Moose are so bonded with each other, Jennie and HSOV Volunteer Angel Grosklos teamed up to walk the boys together from their 'bachelor pad' in the Safe Haven Building so that they did not have to be separated from each other. Both Hazard and Moose have extra-friendly dispositions and super-sweet personalities. They were in 'seventh heaven' during their photo session and loved being showered with attention from Jennie and Angel. Their previous owner shared this information about Hazard and Moose: "They are amazing and sweet dogs!!! They love cuddles and treats!!! Hazard aka Hazzy is extremely scared of thunderstorms, loves raw green and red bell peppers, they both love watermelon. Hazard loves balls, and squeaky toys. Moose has one stuffed animal which he has loved all his life and you can get it at chewy, because it gets gross and will need replaced after being washed a hundred times. Hazard is a big talker, Moose is very laid back and quiet. They are quite the odd couple, but love each other dearly!!! They are the best dogs in the world!!!"

Moose and Hazard had shared the same home and have been kept in safe-keeping custody since their arrival in our shelter. He has a fawn-colored short smooth coat, a docked tail, and a gorgeous Mastiff face with dark brown eyes, a black mask, black shading on his broad muzzle, a black velvet nose, and short floppy ears. Moose weighed 92 lbs when he entered our shelter and was already neutered. Moose and Hazard have shared a large suite in our Safe-Keeping Building since their arrival where they have access to a private outdoor 'patio'. Story
Texas is a handsome 5-1/2 year old male German Shepherd who was brought to the HSOV on June 14, 2025 by Good Samaritans who found him in the vicinity of the Lowe's Home Improvement Store (Pike Street, Marietta Ohio). Texas was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped. This majestic guy has a black-and-brown coat, a long bushy tail, and a classic German Shepherd face with dark brown eyes, a tan mask, a slender muzzle, and large erect ears. Texas appeared to have a pleasant, easygoing disposition when these preliminary photos were taken soon after arrival. He was quiet (no barking at all) and quite attentive. Texas enjoyed 'good boy' treats from HSOV Volunteer Angel Grosklos. Thanks to HSOV Lead Canine Kennel Tech Emily Beaver for assisting Texas with photos in the shelter lobby before she led him to his kennel and got him settled in just in time for his dinner to be served. Texas is a big boy who weighs 90.2 lbs. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Texas was held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that his family would have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership. Surprisingly, nobody called or came looking for this awesome boy.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello! My name is Abigail, I was brought to the Olive Branch as a stray by a nice lady and sadly I wasn't claimed... I am an energetic but sweet girl that loves to play. I love to try and chase cats when I see them, and I get along with some dogs here but not all. I love attention from the staff and the treats they give when I get a command right. I have been spayed, 4dx combo tested, current on vaccinations and preventatives. I tested positive with Lyme disease and had to be treated with a 30-day cycle of Doxycycline. I would love a meet and greet before I am adopted and meet you and your companion. If interested, please visit: www.olivebranchwv.org to fill out an application. I hope to see you soon...Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 8, 2025, 2:35 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello friends! My name is Emily. I was brought to the Olive Branch as a stray by local law enforcement.  I was very shy when I came in, but I have learned that meeting new people isn't scary and have become much more outgoing. I am a little picky about my doggie friends, so I would like to meet any other companions you may have before I'm adopted. An active family who loves to walk or hike would be perfect for me. I have been spayed, fully vaccinated, combo tested Lyme Disease positive and I have had my 30-day cycle of doxycycline, and my preventives are up-to-date.  If you are interested in adopting me please visit our website: olivebranchwv.org to fill out and application.
