Story
This is no ordinary pup. Our heart shatters as we advertise him like some piece of furniture. He has been a member of our family for his whole life - almost 5 years. He is also not an easy pup. He's got some behavior issues, which is the main reason for us trying to rehome him. He will give back what you give him. He will love with his whole heart. We have worked his whole life to train him into the dog we know he can be, but we've failed him. He knows lots of commands - sit, wait, lay down, shake, spin, roll over, ban (lays down and pretends to be dead), knows how to play fetch - and so much more. He's a dream dog for someone who wants a friend, not a pet. He is extremely well house trained, crate trained, etc. List of problem behaviors: - General reactivity (people (all ages), other dogs, some machinery (lawn mowers, etc.) - Has never liked being touched - cannot bathe him - will allow pets in certain places (hes more like a cat this way) - resource guarding - high prey drive

Story
Maggie is so attached to her people! She is a typical German Shepherd and wants her person at her side. She absolutely loves attention and affection. She does amazing on leash and is well kenneled trained. She can scale any size fence or enclosure to be with her people! At her current home the fences are 6 foot and gates are 4 foot and she stays in her yard as long as she has a dog friend or her person but she should not be trusted outside alone. She loves to run and play with dog friends of all sizes and ages. She is very submissive if a friend tells her they are done playing, she will back off. THIS GIRL IS FULL OF ENERGY! We think she may have a touch of Malinois in her. She loves to bounce and run. She would be a fantastic running or hiking buddy. She loves to dunk in her bucket and play with her bowl so she might even be a fantastic lake girl. Maggie was brought to us from an amazing foster from another rescue who pulled her from the OKC shelter. She was very fearful and scared and first so she was very reserved and shy. With plenty of one on one handling and lots of love and affection she has learned that there are good people in the world and she wants nothing more than to give her little heart to one perfect person who will love her forever. She is very attentive to her surroundings and protects her yard with a loud scary bark. If you would like to come meet or adopt Maggie please visit our website for more information or to fill out an adoption application. She will steal your heart! www.shannonfarmz.org

Story
Hi, hi, oh hi!  My name is Bella and I am so happy to meet you.  I am a six year old girl that weighs over eighty pounds.  They think I am a German shepherd mix.  I came to the rescue after my family was moving and they dropped me off at a city shelter where I could die.  Lucky for me the rescue came and took me out of there.  So I am looking for a safe, new home.   I am a fun, water loving girl.  I enjoy my people, cuddles and car rides.  I have been around cats and will play with other dogs but am best suited as an only dog or have a male furry friend.  I know how to use a doggie dog, am house trained and know my basic manners.  I like to stay close to my people.  Everyone has faults and mine is high value resource guarding. I absolutely think Kleenex and treats are very valuable and don’t want to give them up or share them. I have been working on it with a trainer and she can help you and me both.  For those reasons I think small children are not a good match for my new home. I do enjoy activity like walking or playing ball but with my size I admit my endurance is low. I am curious and sometimes get distracted exploring new things.  You know, I guess you could say I like to check out my surroundings.  I have been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated (including canine influenza) and am current on my heartworm/flea & tick preventatives.  My adoption fee is 150.00.  The first step in adopting me is to complete an application for me, Bella at dogsasfamily.org.  You and me, we could be true friends and I would love you no matter what.  Can you love me that much? Story
Hi there, I’m Stetson! I’m about 8–12 months old (we’re not totally sure), but one thing is certain: I’m small for my breed because I didn’t get the best start in life. I came from a rural Oklahoma shelter where they thought I was a tiny 4-month-old puppy with a broken pelvis. Surprise! Turns out I’m older—and my femur had once been completely shattered and healed on its own. Because it healed without surgery, one of my back legs is a little shorter, giving me the cutest little hop when I run and play. It doesn’t stop me one bit, but it does mean I may have some arthritis as I get older. I hope you won’t let that scare you away—I love walks, playtime, and exploring the world! I’m currently living with three dogs and a cat. I’ve never met a dog I didn’t like, but I definitely prefer playful friends, because I can be a bit… annoying to the older grumpy sister dog in my house. As for the cat, well—I can’t decide if she’s a friend or some sort of strange alien creature. I’m not aggressive at all, but I may bark at her occasionally just to voice my confusion. I adore people and would do great in an active home with older kids. I’m still pretty mouthy and learning how to play gently, so I wouldn’t want to accidentally hurt a tiny human. I’m eager to please, very redirectable, and doing awesome with structure and consistency. I’m fully house-trained, crate-trained, and I sleep through the night in my crate like a champ. My favorite hobbies include emptying the toy box, playing with every toy I find, and showing off my flirt-pole skills—I’m a pro at catching that thing! If you’re looking for a sweet, goofy, resilient, and incredibly loving companion with a signature hop, I just might be your guy.
