We have enjoyed every minute with him since he was a puppy.💕With more young kids around and a baby on the way, we know he’d thrive best in a child-free home.🐕 Loyal & bonded with his people🥾 Loves hiking, running, and the outdoors🐾 Great with dogs & reliable off-leash🎓 Well trained; 6-week board & train at 1.5 yrs🏠 Crate trained (up to 8 hrs)🛋️ Stays off furniture unless invited🦴 Food motivated📣 E-collar trainedWhiskey needs structured introductions to new people and feels safest meeting with his muzzle on- he warms up quickly but can be nippy if not introduced properly. He is not comfortable with the unpredictability of young children and requires a kid-free environment. He will thrive with an active, experienced owner who is home often and/or has land. Happy to have a conversation to answer any questions for any potential adopters who think they might be a good fit❤️

Kenai (KeenEye) is about five years old. She has a very sweet and playful disposition. Her human companion died recently and would bond to a new human quickly. She has lived in the country most of her life and would like lots of room to explore. She has never been formally trained but would respond to a patient trainer. She sleeps on the bed and would expect to continue this as part of of her bonding. She loves to fetch and play tug of war. Temporary guardians are willing to drive Kenai to you.

My husband found him when he was a puppy running down a rural Northern California highway. He was starved and covered in fleas. It was a Sunday so he brought him home because the shelter was not open. We bathed him and the water was bloody from the fleas. We fed him, took him to the vet and got his vaccines done at Phoenix animal hospital. I have a 16 year old female dog inside so he had to learn to live outside with my Livestock guardian in the with the lambs as soon as he was healthy enough and big enough to do so. That is where he has been for the last year while we have unsuccessfully looked for a forever home. He is UTD on vaccinations and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. We have done some work with him but I have to very young children, 75 acres and my husband is a California firefighter so he is gone a lot. My time is limited and finances are very tight right now. We really cant afford to keep him much longer.

From JP The Dog Guy: I had the pleasure of working with her today. She is fine w/the male dogs, but her & her Dobie housemate are very suspicious of each other. My client has been fostering her for a few months w/o intention of keeping her, but is not desperate to give her to just anyone. She seems to be a gentle & sensitive soul w/ her people, but demonstrates high prey drive towards the resident cats. Definitely alerts to strangers approaching property so she’s not passive or fearful. Tends to get pretty wound up during play & this can be too much for other dogs if not navigated properly. She responded very quickly any time I needed to redirect her. Says she is 6-8 years old, but I observed a lot of youth still in this sweet gal. UTD on shots/vaccines. No apparent hip/joint issues. On the more petite side as far as shepherds go. She loves to work and play. I would suggest either someone w/ property or someone in a normal house who would love to be active w/ her.
