You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello friends! My name is Emily. I was brought to the Olive Branch as a stray by local law enforcement.  I was very shy when I came in, but I have learned that meeting new people isn't scary and have become much more outgoing. I am a little pciky about my doggie friens, so  I would like to meet any other companions you may have before I'm adopted. An acrive family who loves to walk or hike would be perfect for me. I have been spayed, fully vaccinated, combo tested Lyme Diseae positie and I have had my 30-day cycle of doxycycline), and my preventives are up-to-date.  If you are interested in adopting me please visit our website: olivebranchwv.org to fill out and application. Merle made his grand entrance into the shelter on 4/8/2024, and it didn't take long for him to light up the place with his infectious joy! Within just a day, he's become the epitome of happiness, eagerly soaking up treats and attention like a true superstar. And when the camera appears, Merle effortlessly transforms into a model, striking poses that would make any photographer proud! He's certainly a natural in front of the lens – a true camera hound! Merle's charismatic personality is winning over the hearts of all the volunteers, and it's no surprise why! His charm knows no bounds, and he's quickly becoming a favorite among everyone he meets. As we continue to get to know Merle better, we'll be sure to share more about his delightful quirks and endearing traits. Be sure to check back for updates on this lovable pup! During his initial health assessment, Merle received his rabies vaccination and underwent 4DX testing, unfortunately testing positive for Lyme disease. But fret not – Merle is currently undergoing a 30-day course of Doxycycline to tackle the infection head-on. Once he completes his treatment, he'll be all set to receive his DHLPP and Bordetella vaccinations, ensuring he's in the pink of health and ready to embark on new adventures!  He weighs approximately 50 pounds. Story
Luna is a female German Shepherd Dog, born in July of 2022, who came to us as an owner surrender due to no fault of her own. She is a stunning girl who could benefit from some guidance to highlight her wonderful personality, so that's where we have come in to play! For this guidance, Luna has been enrolled in our "cell dog" training program to learn some basic commands as well as any additional socialization and basic training that she may need. She is super smart so we have no doubt that she will amazing and be ready for her next steps of a forever home in no time! Typical of her breed and age, Luna likes to play, so an active home with a fenced in yard would be ideal! She does very well with other dogs and likes to be with people. Due to her personality, we would think she would do well with everyone, including dog educated children. She is a wonderful pup & we are excited for her next steps!Luna's adoption fee is $450.00 which will include her spay, vaccines (including DHLPPC, Kennel Cough, Lyme disease, Rabies), deworming, heartworm/lyme testing (negative), Microchipping with lifetime registration and cell dog training. If you want to meet Luna with hopes to make her part of your family, be sure to FIRST apply on our website for approval: https://www.theroadhomeanimalproject.org/companion-adoption-form-pdf.html***100% of adoption fees go back to the animals and help provide for medical care for our rescues that need specialized medical care and surgeries.*Note: Ideally, ALL members of the family (canine and human alike) should be present for any meet and greet unless otherwise specified/discussed.Please remember that we are a board of entirely volunteers that have full time jobs as well as our rescue passion. Story
This handsome pair of male German Shepherd dogs were found on Barth Road in the Belpre Ohio area and had been wandering around that neighborhood for awhile. Thanks to a Good Samaritan who gained their trust, they were brought to the HSOV on November 3, 2023. Neither of these guys were wearing a collar, and they were not microchipped. Our kennel techs have dubbed them Comet & Vixen. Comet is estimated to be 5-6 years old. He has a brown/tan coat with subtle dark brown/black shading, a long tail, and a classic German Shepherd face with black shading on his muzzle and extra-large ears which he holds erect. Comet weighs 71 lbs. Vixen is estimated to be 2-3 year old. He has dark brown coat, a long tail, and an adorable dark brown face with black shading on his muzzle, and large ears that he usually holds in a semi-erect position. Vixen weighs 54.2 lbs. Comet & Vixen were somewhat of a comedy team at times during their photo session. HSOV Lead Canine Kennel Tech Jared Nash accompanied Comet while HSOV Kennel Tech Emily Beaver escorted Vixen for their outdoor pictures later in the afternoon on November 3rd. Both Comet & Vixen have friendly, playful personalities and were a pleasure to watch (and photograph) them together. These big boys loved attention from Jared & Emily. We managed to capture a couple of pictures of the boys together .. Comet was quite the clown when he made multiple efforts to photo-bomb Vixen's individual pictures (so we've included a few of those 'bloopers'). We will also post individual photos of Comet & Vixen. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Comet & Vixen will be held for three days so that their family will have an opportunity to reclaim them with proof of ownership. We've learned that Comet is actually Vixen's biological father. UPDATE: Comet and Vixen were neutered on November 14, 2023 and were also given rabies vaccine. Comet was adopted by their foster family on November 15th. But they changed their mind about adopting Comet's biological son Vixen. So Vixen is still looking for a fabulous home.

Story
Vixen is an adorable 2-1/2 year old male German Shepherd/possible Belgian Malinois mix who was found on Barth Road in the Belpre Ohio area along with his best friend (Comet). These boys had been wandering around that neighborhood for awhile and befriended a kind family who made sure they did not go hungry. Thanks to a Good Samaritan who gained their trust and kept them safe, they were brought to the HSOV on November 3, 2023. Neither of these guys were wearing a collar, and they were not microchipped. Vixen has as dark brown coat, a long tail, and an adorable dark brown face with black shading on his muzzle, and large ears that he usually holds in a semi-erect position. Both Vixen & Comet have friendly, playful personalities and were a pleasure to watch (and photograph), Much to our delight, they were somewhat of a comedy team at times during their photo session. HSOV Kennel Tech Emily Beaver escorted Vixen and HSOV Lead Canine Kennel Tech Jared Nash accompanied Comet for their outdoor pictures later in the afternoon on November 3rd. Both of these big boys loved attention from Emily & Jared. Vixen appears to be the loving 'little brother' type who looks up to Comet for comfort/security. Vixen weighs 54.2 lbs and is the smaller of the pair. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Vixen & Comet will be held for three days so that their family will have an opportunity to reclaim them with proof of ownership. If they are not reclaimed, we'd love to see Vixen & Comet adopted together. We've learned that Comet is actually Vixen's biological father.
