Story
Delta is a beautiful 2-year old female German Shorthaired Pointer who was brought to the HSOV and placed in an outdoor kennel after closing hours on February 14, 2026. Delta was not wearing a collar, and she was not microchipped. This little beauty has a chocolate brown/liver-colored coat with brown/liver-and-white ticking, a short docked tail, and a classic German Shorthaired Pointer face with dark brown eyes, a narrow white stripe on her muzzle, a brown/liver-colored nose, and large floppy ears. Delta has a happy, outgoing personality and was full of playful energy when HSOV Shelter Manager Tracy Lynn Moore accompanied her for outdoor pictures on February 14th. Delta demonstrated her pointing skills several times during her photo session (smile). Delta appears to be housetrained since she quickly 'took care of business' as soon as she stepped into a grassy area and before she posed for her glamour pictures. Delta has a slim build. She was energetic on a leash and loved running laps around HSOV Shelter Manager Tracy Moore. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Delta will be held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that her family will have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership. If she is not reclaimed, we will accept HSOV adoption applications for Delta beginning on February 18, 2026. Delta will be spayed before being officially adopted (a requirement for HSOV dog/cat adoptions to be finalized). Update: Delta was spayed on February 23, 2026 and was also given rabies vaccine.

High   Have you made some resolutions to get more walks in?  Or have more joy in your life?  Minka will guarantee your success!  This young German Shorthaired Pointer mix is a bounding ball of life, always ready to play fetch, run around outside, or try to squeeze herself into your lap.    Minka has been diagnosed with Wobbler Syndrome, a neurological problem affecting the spinal cord.  In the case of Minka, her back legs have a funny gait and she can lose her balance easily when she gets excited.  She should always be walked on a harness instead of just her collar.  Minka is not a fan of stairs – she needs a little help going up them and refuses to go down (but is happy to be carried down). While in her foster home, Minka will continue to be evaluated to make sure she is in no pain and to set up a protocol for managing her syndrome.   But Minka is not letting her diagnosis get to her!  She is a high-energy dog always ready to go out for a walk or a spin in the backyard.  Minka’s favorite toys are anything ball-shaped – she loves to make balls bounce by pawing at them on the ground.  But when it’s time to take a break, she wants to snuggle right up with her people.  Minka is fearful at first and will bark until she knows everything is safe.  She is quick to warm up to people – especially if she’s looking for someone to toss a ball for her.  Minka is looking for a family who can give her the support she needs to continue to thrive.  She loves routine and attention, and she will need some time to settle in and be comfortable.  Minka will return all attention and love threefold – take some time to meet this girl and see it for yourself! ##2627511##
