Story
Hi, I’m Oakley, your future snuggle buddy and squeaky-toy enthusiast! I’m a sweet, affectionate girl who loves being close to my people. My favorite place to be is curled up on the couch or snuggled in your lap. I’m happiest when I’m included in whatever you’re doing because I’m a curious girl who always wants to know what’s going on!I love meeting new people and playing with other dogs, especially the big ones. I’m not much of a barker, but I am a big fan of toys! Chew toys and balls are great, but squeaky toys? Oh, those are my absolute favorite! Give me a squeaky ball, and I could play for hours. When I’m all tuckered out, you might find me snoozing on the couch flat on my back with all four paws in the air. I’m pretty adorable if I do say so myself!I also have a caring side. When little humans are around, I like to keep an eye on things, and if I hear a child crying, I’ll come over to check on them. I’ve been around babies, toddlers, and teenagers, and I enjoy being around people of all ages.I’m a smart girl, too! I know how to sit, stay, give paw, and shake, and I can even catch a ball when you throw it. I take treats nicely and am friendly around mealtime. I’m still working on my housetraining and learning to walk on a leash, so I’ll need a patient guardian to help me keep making progress. I can be a runner, so I’ll need to be kept safe around open doors and outdoors. Cats aren’t my cup of tea, and I haven’t had much experience with small dogs yet.More than anything, I want a family who will love me, play with me, include me in their adventures, and save a spot for me on the couch. If you’re looking for a loving companion who will fill your days with cuddles, playtime, and plenty of silly moments, I think we could be a perfect match. Could I be your new best friend? My adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Plus, a microchip that is already registered to you! What more could you ask for?If my bio shows “Spay/Neutered” with a checkmark, I have already been altered; if you do not see this listed, my surgery is still scheduled and a refundable spay/neuter deposit will be required, which will be returned within 24 hours after my procedure is completed. If you`d like to meet me, please fill out an application on our website, PawmettoLifeline.org.Adoptions are by appointment Tuesday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, you’re welcome to walk in anytime between 10:00am and 5:00pm. Please note that we’re closed for adoptions on Sundays and Mondays.
