While she loves a good play session with her dog friends, she is not a high-energy or hyper dog. In fact, most of the day you’ll find her happily snoozing or curled up beside you on the couch, soaking in the quiet moments. Shelby needs to live with other dogs, ideally another large, confident dog who enjoys companionship and play. She can be sensitive around food if another dog challenges her, something that likely stems from spending a long time in a shelter environment where meals didn’t always feel predictable. With a calm, respectful canine housemate and a consistent routine, she settles in beautifully and has lived with dogs of all sizes. Strong, athletic, and all muscle, Shelby will thrive with an adopter who appreciates her strength and can continue working on her leash skills. She’ll also need a secure yard with a minimum 6-foot fence, as she can clear anything shorter with ease. Shelby is wonderfully smart and enjoys using her brain. She would excel in nose work, scent games, or other activities that give her a sense of purpose. Afterward, she’s more than happy to trade action for affection and cuddle up close. Murphy has such a unique appearance! With one blue/one brown eye, a shiny black coat with speckled chest and feet, and fold-over ears, he is stunningly attractive! Murphy was surrendered 1/6/26 as they could no longer care for him. Murphy weighs 58 pounds, neutered and is about 3 years old. He is listed as a Lab/Retriever but my Dog Scanner suggests German Short-haired Pointer/English Pointer in the breed mix. Owner reported that he is house trained, was an indoor dog, and lived with and was OK with other dogs. I found him to be a delightful and charming boy who deserves another chance at a forever home with someone who will stay committed to him. He walks nicely on a leash and enjoys going for walks. He knows the sit and paw commands. He will sit for treats and takes them politely. He is well mannered and gentle. He is an inquisitive fellow, checking out his surroundings with such intense interest. He is friendly and affectionate. We met a lady in the parking lot who got down on his level to pet him and he promptly gave her kisses. Can you please assist Murphy in having a very short and brief time at the shelter?
