Meet Kip – A Sweet, Snuggly Pup with a Big Heart (and a Brave Spirit!) Kip is as cute as they come and has the sweetest soul to match. This handsome young pup absolutely adores being around his people—cuddles, belly rubs, and quality time are high on his list of favorite things. He's also a big fan of snacks (who isn't?), which makes him extra motivated to learn and bond. Kip is 1.5 years old and weighs 86 pounds. He is potty-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on a leash. He'd love a home with another dog to keep him company, a yard to romp around in, and plenty of toys and chew bones to keep him happy. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a truly special pup, Kip will reward you with a lifetime of love, loyalty, and snuggles. Shelby

German Shorthaired Pointer Mixed Breed (Medium)

Flower Mound, TX
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Shelby — equal parts athlete and champion lounger. Shelby is a female German Shorthaired Pointer mix who has mastered the art of balance. While she loves a good play session with her dog friends, she is not a high-energy or hyper dog. In fact, most of the day you’ll find her happily snoozing or curled up beside you on the couch, soaking in the quiet moments. Shelby needs to live with other dogs, ideally another large, confident dog who enjoys companionship and play. She can be sensitive around food if another dog challenges her, something that likely stems from spending a long time in a shelter environment where meals didn’t always feel predictable. With a calm, respectful canine housemate and a consistent routine, she settles in beautifully and has lived with dogs of all sizes. Strong, athletic, and all muscle, Shelby will thrive with an adopter who appreciates her strength and can continue working on her leash skills. She’ll also need a secure yard with a minimum 6-foot fence, as she can clear anything shorter with ease. Shelby is wonderfully smart and enjoys using her brain. She would excel in nose work, scent games, or other activities that give her a sense of purpose. Afterward, she’s more than happy to trade action for affection and cuddle up close. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who brings both calm companionship and playful spirit, Shelby is ready to make herself at home. 🐾

Hussle is a sweet high energy dog that needs a big yard to run. He is sweet temperament and loves attention and endless games of fetch. He was adopted by a family member who temporarily moved out the country , this has since become a permanent placement that doesn’t allow him to bring Hussle over. Hussle has been with me for that past year and unfortunately due to my landlord’s new contract I can’t keep him at my home.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Petey walked onto a property in the country one day and let everybody know that he was not just visiting, but really intended to stay. This would have been perfectly fine with the human residents, but they want Petey to have the best possible life and felt this high energy young man needed to have someone younger than they are. GSP's are wonderful dogs who are very lovable and loving and are very trainable. They do have a high energy level and usually a strong prey drive. Training is definitely a must. They will reward you with unconditional love and loyalty.

Good with kids, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Luna is a 5 year old Dalmatian/Lab mix She weighs about 50 pounds and is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on leash. She has grown up with kids and is gentle with all ages and loves to give kisses. She loves squeaky toys and snuggles and playing in the backyard to keep an eye on the squirrels! She is highly trainable and super eager to please. Luna was born deaf but was taught hand commands from age 5 months. She responds well to visual cues and is eager to learn more. Deaf dogs are just like regular dogs, you simply communicate with them a little differently! If Luna sounds like the perfect addition to your family but you are worried about her being deaf don't be! We will include sessions with our trainer for any interested family to help make the transition super easy! Luna either needs to be an only dog (as being deaf other dogs can startle her) or potentially with a calm male dog. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Pointer

Female, Adult
Dallas, TX
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Meet the Sweet and energetic Shirayuki, or Yuki. She is a 1 year old, 42 lb Pointer mix, with a goofy smile. She was adopted recently from Dallas Animal Services but is needing a better home with space to run or someone active to help burn some of her energy off! Shirayuki is a submissive and High energy pup who loves to explore. She is constantly nose to the ground on walks and explores anywhere she can. She is very treat and food motivated, but needs a little patience when training as she just gets too excited to focus. She gets along with dogs and is very eager upon greeting, she is also very submissive when meeting other dogs and will try to follow the other dogs lead. She would do best in a home without a cat, due to her high prey drive noticed when she is outside, She has not had any experience being introduced to a cat so this could change. Shirayuki LOVES to cuddle up with her humans and will be attached to your hip the second you are on a couch or in bed if you let her. An ideal home for Shirayuki would be either one with a yard or access to a dog park where she can free run and expend her energy, A home maybe with more than one person or someone who is active and can give her the attention she needs and deserves. Shirayuki is leash and house trained. She has the potential to be a super smart pup to someone with experience in training tricks. This energetic pup is deserving of the perfect furever home. Could it be with you? Apply to adopt Shirayuki today! This pet is participating in the Dallas Pets Alive rehoming program.
