Story
Meet Wilbur Location: Hempstead, TXDOB: 03/26/2023Wilbur’s story could have ended very differently—but thanks to a kind-hearted Good Samaritan who witnessed him being dumped, this sweet boy got the second chance he deserved. He was taken in and is now thriving in an amazing foster home where his true personality has blossomed. And what a personality it is… Wilbur is the goofiest, sweetest boy you’ll ever meet. He’s full of love, incredibly grateful, and happiest when he’s soaking up attention from his people. If you’re looking for a dog who will make you laugh daily and then curl up for the best cuddles ever—he’s your guy.Wilbur has a nice, balanced energy level. He enjoys being outside and stretching his legs, but he’s just as content lounging and relaxing. A backyard and a loving home are all he really needs. His quirks? Endless and adorable. He sleeps upside down, snores, sometimes falls asleep sitting up, and drinks water with his nose pressed into the bowl. He bounces when he walks and has a signature “post-potty celebration” where he kicks up the yard and hops away. And when he wants cuddles… he wants to be as close as physically possible. He even has double dew claws (which he occasionally chews on like toys) and knows how to sit—though he’ll usually offer both paws right after for a bonus double shake.Wilbur is housetrained, crate trained, rides great in the car, and walks nicely on a leash. He’s fantastic with other dogs of all sizes and genders and has done great with kids—even toddlers. If he ever feels overwhelmed, he simply walks away. He’s also friendly with new people—he may give a quick bark, then warms up right away.He can be a little sensitive to fast movements or restraint, so he’ll do best in a patient, understanding home.Wilbur is currently being treated for heartworms and has a dislocated hip—but neither slows him down or dims his spirit one bit.His perfect home is one filled with love, laughter, and people who will adore him as much as he’ll adore them. He’s adaptable and could even do well in a home where someone works longer hours, as long as he gets plenty of love when they’re home.Wilbur has already overcome so much—now he’s just waiting for his forever family. Story
Meet Dallas – your future girl with the goofy charm!Location: Toledo, OHDOB: 07/13/2020Dallas is a beautiful Great Dane with that classic “goofy Dane” personality everyone loves. She’s playful, sweet, a little silly, and incredibly lovable. One minute she’s happily shaking her toys, and the next she’s giving you those signature Great Dane head tilts and soft vocalizations that make the breed so special.PersonalityDallas is the perfect blend of fun and relaxed. She has moderate energy—she enjoys playing with toys and her dog friends but also settles down nicely and loves to lounge. Whether it’s on the couch, the bed, or even the floor, she’s happiest when she’s near her people. She can be a bit of a “velcro” dog and will gently nudge you with her nose when she wants attention (or a treat—those are her favorite). She loves both men and women and does well in public and in the car. She’s wonderful at the groomer and can roam freely in the house without issue. When new guests arrive, she may be a little shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, she becomes affectionate and eager to give kisses.Home Life-Housetrained (she just needs 10–15 minutes outside to ensure she finishes her business)-Walks well on leash, though she may pull slightly when excited-Does great with other dogs and currently lives with multiple large and medium dogs, both male and female-No cats—she will chase them-Would enjoy another dog in the home but would also do fine as an only dog-Best suited for homes with older kids, teens, and adults (unknown with very young children)-Dallas has done some counter surfing in the past but is improving with reminders and continued training. She is smart and responds well to consistency.Energy LevelDallas has a moderate energy level. A fenced backyard is sufficient for her needs. She enjoys playtime but also knows how to relax and settle appropriately. The Perfect HomeDallas will need a patient and understanding family willing to give her time to adjust to a new environment. Once she feels secure, she truly shines and becomes an incredibly loyal and loving companion. She deserves a home where she will be cherished, appreciated, and spoiled the way a Great Dane should be.If you are looking for a big-hearted, toy-loving, head-tilting best friend, Dallas may be the perfect fit for your family.========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .Note: SRGDRR adopts nationwide and offers transport options to help you find your perfect match! Story
Rusty, nickname "Scooby" is the sweetest big boy you will ever meet. He truly thinks he is a lap dog and can't grasp that he is rock solid muscle weighing just over 80 pounds. He is all about the one who loves him! He is by your side, loyal and true. He is very smart and continues to learn new commands. I have a signal I give him and he will slowly and gingerly jump up and put his paws on my chest. He loves to run! I swear he must have a little greyhound in him. He is the fastest dog I have ever seen. He is never aggressive except for cats, he does not like cats. He walks well on a leash and is the only dog I have ever had that seriously plays with all the toys in his toy box. I am having to downsize and move into a small apartment and it kills me to have to find him a new home, but it has to be a home that will give him the love he deserves! He is very loyal and does get his feelings hurt if he thinks he has upset you. He just turned 5, April 21, 2026.
