Meet Prince — A German Shorthaired Pointer mix with a heart of gold and legs built for adventure!  This handsome boy has the classic athletic GSP build, making him the perfect partner for hikes, runs, and outdoor exploration. He's started hiking with his foster parents and is learning the manners required to be a good hiking partner. But......don't let his sporty looks fool you—Prince is just as content being your personal couch potato, ready to binge-watch your favorite shows and snuggle up for a nap. Prince is a master of affection and loves nothing more than a good cuddle session. He’s also a toy aficionado with a special love for his giggle ball and a knack for creating a “treasure trove” of toys on his dog bed. His foster parents affectionately call him “the collector” because he delights in gathering his favorite items—and he’ll even entertain himself by expertly unloading the toy box! Prince currently lives with five medium-to-large foster dogs and thrives with companions who can match his vocal, rough-and-tumble play style. However, he does need slow, supervised introductions to new dogs. While he’s never had issues in his foster home and responds well to verbal correction, Prince can be reactive when leashed or crated around other dogs. With other dogs, he may become possessive of toys or high-value items. His body language can be misread by other dogs, so a home with confident, tolerant canine siblings—or a solo-dog setup—may be ideal. He’s doesn't seem to be a fan of small dogs, and his reaction to cats is unknown. Prince would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children who understand canine body language and respect boundaries. He thrives in a calm, structured environment where his cues are honored and his playful energy is welcomed. Prince is also a star student! He’s incredibly treat-motivated and loves healthy snacks like carrots and brussels sprouts. He was a quick learner in obedience class, and continuing his training will be a fun way to strengthen your bond. He’s fantastic in the car and would be an incredible copilot for road trips and always ready to hit the open road with his favorite humans. Lexy is a 2-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer/Hound mix with the best of both worlds—playful energy and a heart full of love. Weighing around 40 lbs, she’s the perfect size for hiking trails or curling up on the couch for stormy weather cuddles. This sweetheart came to us from our local county shelter, where she had been waiting patiently since May. Now, she’s settling into rescue life and showing us just how special she is. Spayed Microchipped Crate trained Seems to be potty trained Will be fully vaccinated soon (Distemper, Lepto, Bordetella, Rabies) and heartworm tested Lexy is a total lover—she’ll start off with playful energy but quickly melts into a cuddle bug, especially during thunderstorms. She gets nervous during storms and seeks comfort and closeness. If you’re someone who doesn’t mind a furry friend glued to your side during bad weather, Lexy is your girl. She does well with other dogs and seems indifferent to our farm animals. We can cat test upon request. Heads up: Lexy has some impressive climbing skills and may try to scale wire fencing if left unattended in a new environment. We recommend supervised yard time until she’s fully settled and bonded with her family. Lexy is ready to find her forever home—a place where she can explore, love, and be loved in return. Story
SUNNY Sunny is a beautiful handsome sweet gentle but strong and energetic Lemon and White Hound possibly Pointer mix boy. He was found by a neighbor January 2023 in pitiful shape. Bloody, wounded, skeletal - so weak, starved and exhausted he could barely stand. But his beautiful spirit was quickly restored with food and vetting and love. He has been treated for Heartworm, tickborne, and he has been neutered - YAY! Amazingly, he still loves people. He is dog friendly and cat friendly. He is really good on his leash. He plays with toys and enjoys his meals and treats. His teeth are extremely worn down from his harsh cruel former life. And one of his eyes was lost. But overall he is HAPPY, healthy, and enjoying life - thank goodness and knock on wood. He loves being outside in the fenced yard, and has perfect indoor manners whether crated or in his "living room." He really would make a sweet easy going companion to a nice person in need.
