Story
Meet Kona, the 11 months old, 70lbs pony!!! My best guess is that she is a Great dane/ Gsp mix. Her size, structure, drinking, slobbering and passing wind behaviour equals that of a GD, her agility, brightness and spotty chest indicate GSP. But who knows? We do know though that she will be XL, as she still has half a year to grow into her ginormous paws . Kona's ears are floppy and do their own thing when she runs, zooms and jumps If you like active, young, large dogs, but want to add an already trained one to your family, Kona is your babe! - potty, crate, house trained - great in the car and off leash - loves, loves, loves kids, but due to her size & bounciness, I would recommend ages 8+ - adores other dogs, but would be ok as the only dog in a VERY ACTIVE HOUSEHOLD  - can be a little timid at first, but warms up quickly - wants & needs all the toys (bones, stuffies, squeakers, you name it) - highly treat/ food motivated  - super snuggly once settled Kona is the full package In foster care in Vienna, 22182 and ready to meet approved applicants! Kona is a beautiful, sweet-natured girl with a big heart and an even bigger love for her people. She is affectionate & enjoys attention . Kona is an intelligent, high-energy dog who needs both physical activity and mental stimulation to thrive. She is not a couch-potato pup and will do best in a very active home—one that enjoys walks, playtime, training, enrichment, or has a large fenced yard where she can burn energy in healthy ways.  This sweet girl is looking for adopters who understand that smart dogs need engagement and consistency. With the right environment, structure, and commitment, Kona will make an incredibly loyal and rewarding companion.   In foster care in Vienna! Adoption Day: January 24th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt. Pets may be adopted prior to this date with an approved adopter. Some pups may stick around until 11:00 AM for the public event—check our Facebook page closer to the date to see if this pup will be attending the extra fun!  ##2357322##

Story
Meet Diamond-- a sweetie pie! She’s an energetic senior German Short-haired Pointer Mix. Although she has lots of energy, she’s also the biggest cuddle bug. Moreover, she loves to talk; thus, she barks quite a bit. As an affectionate companion, she should be the only fur-baby of her paw-rent (s). Given her lively nature, Diamond is quite strong and pulls on the leash so a sizable backyard to run around and go potty is needed. Overall, her ideal home is with adults and children (13 years old and up) who love snuggling on the couch and occasionally being outside. Diamond is crate- and house-trained and knows basic commands (i.e. sit, lay, “crate up”). She is up to date on all of her shots, and she doesn’t have any special needs or known medical conditions. We’re moving and unfortunately can’t take her with us. When adopted, Diamond will come with a crate– fit for a large dog, water and food bowls, vet records, 3 months of heartworm medicine, and a 20lb bag of dog food.

Story
SNOOP- DOB: 02/27/25, 8 months old, Good with kids, cats, and dogs. Playful, Loving, Sweet, Young. Responds well to his name. Attentive. Nickname: Snooper Dooper (Responds to that too LOL) Snoop was surrendered on 09/27 due to housing issues.  His original owner stated he is able to free roam the home, sleeping wherever his heart desires (on floor, owners bed, couch, chair, dog bed, etc.)  He loves ALL toys, ball, frisbee, plush, squeaker, and tug. He was leash walked twice a day but also able to free roam in a yard. He is crate trained and house trained, He would have an accident inside of the home if he was left alone for 10 hours while owner was at work.  He loves playing with other dogs, knows sit, lay down, and no. He loves to train and is very food motivated.  Snoop was adopted 30 minutes after he was surrendered but was returned 10/10 due to being too energetic around a 1 year old baby.  They stated he was a great dog with them as well. Happy, Playful, Energetic, PUPPY! They explained he would be great with kids that can play back with him, not an infant.  He is now back with us, enjoying his time with the other dogs in playgroup, but hoping he doesn't have to be here very long. This is no place for a youngster to be living out their puppy life.  Come meet Snooper Dooper today! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 13, 2025, 6:00 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Prince — A German Shorthaired Pointer mix with a heart of gold and legs built for adventure!  This handsome boy has the classic athletic GSP build, making him the perfect partner for hikes, runs, and outdoor exploration. He's started hiking with his foster parents and is learning the manners required to be a good hiking partner. But......don't let his sporty looks fool you—Prince is just as content being your personal couch potato, ready to binge-watch your favorite shows and snuggle up for a nap. Prince is a master of affection and loves nothing more than a good cuddle session. He’s also a toy aficionado with a special love for his giggle ball and a knack for creating a “treasure trove” of toys on his dog bed. His foster parents affectionately call him “the collector” because he delights in gathering his favorite items—and he’ll even entertain himself by expertly unloading the toy box! Prince currently lives with five medium-to-large foster dogs and thrives with companions who can match his vocal, rough-and-tumble play style. However, he does need slow, supervised introductions to new dogs. While he’s never had issues in his foster home and responds well to verbal correction, Prince can be reactive when leashed or crated around other dogs. With other dogs, he may become possessive of toys or high-value items. His body language can be misread by other dogs, so a home with confident, tolerant canine siblings—or a solo-dog setup—may be ideal. He’s doesn't seem to be a fan of small dogs, and his reaction to cats is unknown. Prince would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children who understand canine body language and respect boundaries. He thrives in a calm, structured environment where his cues are honored and his playful energy is welcomed. Prince is also a star student! He’s incredibly treat-motivated and loves healthy snacks like carrots and brussels sprouts. He was a quick learner in obedience class, and continuing his training will be a fun way to strengthen your bond. He’s fantastic in the car and would be an incredible copilot for road trips and always ready to hit the open road with his favorite humans. NOTE: Dog Breed Information We do not utilize DNA testing for breed and mix determinations. The breed and mix identifications provided on our webpages are based on information from shelter staff, previous owners, and our visual assessment of each dog’s physical characteristics, demeanor, and behavioral traits.
